no they're not. Star is higher rated than Jackson was. Jackson was seen as a 3-4 DE first, who could maybe play DT. Star is a 4-3 DT that could play DE in the 3-4.

We really don't want to hear another word about Starlight Starbright the DT, because he does nothing for the Kansas City Chiefs.

We could clone him 100 times, cryo-freeze the clones and draft the clones for another 100 years and never win a SB.

I'm not advocating drafting him.

Star is seen as a solid 2-gapper that excels in taking on double teams but lacks elite pass rushing skills.

He's higher rated due to scheme versatility, not because he's actually more of an impact player.

Star also has 25 to thirty pounds on Jackson. Just saying, they're not the same.

In terms of impact on their team, and the game as a whole, yes, they are.

If we take Star, who plays NT?

I understand the responsibilities of the NT in the 1-gap are far different and in some ways easier than the 2-gap NT.

But here we are. Going on Year 5 of the 3-4 defense in Kansas City, and our NTs have been Tank Tyler, Ron Edwards, brokedick Kelly Gregg, and Anthony ****ing Toribio. Going back to 2008, we've drafted three guys with our high first round pick, and only one of them has played limited action in the most important position on that defensive line and possibly the most important position on the entire defense.

And if we draft Star, he's supposedly going to be ANOTHER 3-4 end?

I mean, when you consider it from the Chiefs' perspective, Lotulelei and Jackson actually ARE the same thing.

Seems like people that want to draft Geno Smith want to win more games next year. I don't care about that. I want to win a Super Bowl some time after that. That requires a whole team.

I understand that. I'm just wondering who the hell our NT is.

People want Poe to be Ngata. That means he wouldn't be playing NT. Who is?
