I just ****ing hate how STUPID our country has become. I get up and turn on the radio and they're talking about him drinking the water. The news websites have a clip and short blip about the "water moment". I mean I'm no republican or democrat, but what's the deal? The guy needed a quick drink during his speech. How is that news?

I could give a shit about Rubio needing water. Who cares.

What interested me was how this speech clearly demonstrated he either does not or cannot provide new ideas for the GOP. He's pretty good Veep vodder for his demographics (young, hispanic, Floridian), but he is not POTUS material by a long shot. The GOP doesn't seem to have a bench outside of Christie.

I thought his speech was a lot better than Obamas. It really irritated me how he got a standing ovation so damn often. It does with all presidents and their parties. Every sentence was like an opponents 3rd and long at Arrowhead.

You know why the media doesn't care about Rubio's message? Because the public doesn't care. Rebuttals are stupid. America just spent an hour "acting" unified and the opposing party instantly has to screw with it. I mean christ, at least give it a day so your speech is refuting what the prez actually said. To have that speech ready that soon they basically just have a bunch of prewritten cliche that they copy and paste together and then you get sweaty gaffs like this from a speech made with haste.

Lied to his people, lied to groups he was speaking to, lied to voters..FOR YEARS....denied the rumors that his background was BS when asked........ and only when confronted with overwhelming evidence he had been lying to everyone for years did he come clean.

Must always have an opposition party. It's not a bad thing. It's a good thing. Part of Checks and Balance. We didn't elect a dictator or a king.

Other than that, both speeches should be called the "State of the Statists."

I agree. It's just so tactless to literally rebut ASAP! It's amazing how much you can up your game by sleeping on it for a night.

Obama could have given a party-line Republican speech, and Rubio would have told us why he was wrong.
