An embarrassing display by the officials. There is no excuse for all of the series of events that led to that result. This was not one bad call.

I just don't understand why we do this. The wins are never as good as the losses are bad. What kind of wanton insanity is this? Why is humanity drawn to sports? Why do we expend time and energy upon things that exist solely to bring misery in logarithmic proportion to your emotional investment?

In one stretch they were CLEARLY trying to provoke Oriakhi and it was like the refs were in on it. Guy gets a rebound and they let him get fouled 3 or 4 times before blowing the whistle. I'm amazed he didn't start throwing elbows. I know that's what they were looking for, and apparently he did too. I don't know that I'd have had the same composure. Edit : It felt like they wanted a fight to happen so they could invent a rivalry.

We got ****ed, plain and simple.

That said, we should have won in spite of all that. Maybe Pressey will mature a little when he realizes what he's doing isn't going to get him into the NBA. We were better today when he was out of the game.

Hats off to Keion Bell. Right now, he's the best player on the team.

Incredibly frustrating game.

All right. If you're going to accuse me of being a tool, let's at least get the facts straight.

My first post in this thread was on January 23. It looks like MU had lost four games before that, none in which I posted about (at least I didn't do it here). MU also did not play that day (in fact, they were coming off a victory against South Carolina). It was also a compliment about last year's MU team.

Most college basketball isn't particularly high quality (there are a lot of bad coaches with even worse, undisciplined teams out there), but you can't tell me, Hamas, that you didn't greatly enjoy watching that Missouri team last year (at least until their untimely demise). Their offense was incredible and fun to watch and if Haith had figured out how to get them to play any defense, they might have won it all.

My next post in the thread was on Feb. 7. And yes, you were right, it was after the A&M loss. I was watching that game and felt that MU completely threw it away with poor play (which anybody watching it would have to admit that they did). But if your theory was right about me posting after every MU loss, I would have posted after the bad LSU loss they had on Jan. 30. But of course, I didn't. And then today, I posted about how MU was ridiculously screwed out of this one (unlike A&M, I don't think they deserve the blame here...it was stolen from them by incompetency and home cooking).

It might be time to stop being paranoid about me and find a different place to direct your anger.

Outside of a few months of KU basketball, it's usually a horror for me all year as well. But I have some hope the Jays could change that this year (although I think I'm preparing myself for the inevitable letdown).

I've tried to disassociate myself from sports at different points in my life for this reason, but it's always proven too difficult in the end. At least I don't get angry when the Chiefs lose anymore, so that's something that will help.
