Nothing says "I'm a mouth-breather" quite like being a Republican in Kansas

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/0...?utm_hp_ref=tw

I keep telling myself, "Well, we've finally hit rock bottom," but then....

I suppose a collective IQ of 70 in the Kansas Legislature would require them to preserve every last IQ point possible....

Edit: I thought for sure that the article came from The Onion, but I can't find anything that suggests it isn't legit.

Kansas Fluoride

A Republican group in Kansas wants Topeka city officials to remove fluoride from the city's drinking water in order to preserve the intelligence of legislators in the state's capital.

I don't see a problem with removing fluoride from water.
I imagine removing flouride will have limited impact on you--looking good, KC!

I voted against it in wichita.
I've never understood why it's in the water. Toothpaste and rinses make a ton of sense.

Have you ever been to Missouri? Let's just say not everyone is into toothpaste as much as others.

Ummm.. ya there is a big difference between ingesting it and using it on your teeth and spitting it out. It's really quite toxic but thanks for playing cosmo. What is the main ingredient in rat poison?

Saying that it is "really quite toxic" is REALLY misleading. There are lots of things that are toxic in high doses that cause no threat (or are even quite necessary for good health) in lower quantities. Pure water (with no flouride) can kill you if you drink enough of it.

The main ingredient in rat poison? Not flouride. If rats were killed that easily by tiny amounts of flouride, we'd eradicate them by having them drink our water.

Dark chocolate is toxic to dogs. So are grapes. Yet we can eat them!

You said flouride is toxic. My response was that lots of things are toxic in large in enough quantities. In smaller quantities, those "toxic" things are not harmful.

You can't just say something is "toxic" and have that be the end of it. That's meaningless.

Here are some nutrients that are important to good health. They are also "toxic!":

Vitamin A
Iron
Zinc
Chromium
Copper
Iodine

Sodium Fluoride

One of these is highly toxic and the others are needed by the human body. WHich one is not needed by the human body?

This isn't the first time you've wished death or infinite afterlife torture on members of this forum. You probably need some mental health evaluations.
