Tim Tebow supports gay-hating pastor

He's a douche.

Agreeing to speak at intolerant church is Tebow's greatest sin

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/story/2...s-greatest-sin

Quote:
Tim Tebow is about to make the biggest mistake of his life.

Tebow has agreed to speak at a hateful Baptist preacher's church, an evangelical cretin named Robert Jeffress who does the work of the Lord sort of like Westboro Baptist in Topeka, Kan., does the work of the Lord.

Not at all.

Jeffress isn't as bad as Westboro. He doesn't send his flock to funerals of U.S. soldiers and have his sheep yell awful things like, "God hates pillowbiters." But he comes close. Too close. He believes, he has said, "It's a fact that [AIDS is] a gay disease so there's a reasonable reason to exclude gays from the military."

Jeffress is a bad guy. He says Jews and homosexuals are going to hell. He says the Catholic church is a satanic cult. He says Islam "is a religion that promotes pedophilia -- sex with children."

Mormons? They're going to hell, too, but Jeffress was willing to overlook that and promote Mitt Romney over Barack Obama in the 2012 presidential election because Obama, Jeffress said, "is paving the way for the future reign of the Antichrist."

"I am not saying that President Obama is the Antichrist, I am not saying that at all," Jeffress said in November. "One reason I know he's not the Antichrist is the Antichrist is going to have much higher poll numbers when he comes."

Tim Tebow supports this man.

More than supports him, Tebow is going to throw his weight -- and it is considerable; we're talking about Tim Tebow for God's sake -- behind this preacher by speaking at his church in Dallas in April.

I read and study the Bible (not as often as I should) to better understand what Christ would have us do.

He didn't decide. God did and he said so. He's just repeating God's word. Again, no decision has been made by a person here (except for the person rejecting God).

that is right....unless you preface it with making the same statement God made.
If you aren't saved, and you die unsaved, God said you will not enter the Kingdom of God and you will spend eternity in hell.

Sure, but that's a bit of a different message.

As if we needed any more reason to think you don't actually know what you're talking about, but rather simply repeat misinformation someone told you about the Bible and Jesus.

Just a heads up, for future reference (but it would be better to actually read the Gospels for yourself): in every instance where Jesus either is or it may be inferred that he's talking about hell, he also preaches on heaven.

Also, you have no idea what Jesus preached on most, because not only have you obviously not closely studied the Gospels, but you weren't around when Jesus was preaching. What you have in the Gospels, if you ever bothered to read them, are selections of the life of Jesus. That's obvious from the text as you read it, and it's also plainly obvious because the authors DECLARE IT AS A SELECTION.

You are such a false, ignorant preacher.

I didn't see any specific quotes in the OP detailing what Jeffress said about going to Hell. The quotes I saw were about Obama paving the way for the Anti Christ and keeping gay people out of the military. In a separate related article he is quoting as saying:

"The value of electing a Christian goes beyond public policies. . . . Christians are uniquely favored by God, [while] Mormons, Hindus and Muslims worship a false god. The eternal consequences outweigh political ones. It is worse to legitimize a faith that would lead people to a separation from God."

That's the closest I could find to the issue.

This is a tautology, and it doesn't answer many important questions like, "Who will be saved?" or "How will I be saved?"

I don't think that is different at least in intent than my original message.

Which Christian bible? There are many different ones that are each claimed to be the true Word of God...
