One road win over a team that's 2-10 in league play.
Sure UK's beatable but predicting a MU win flies in the face of their body of work which is obviously nearly complete at this point.

Yes. I haven't seen many FLorida fans on the interwebs acknowledge that Missouri also shot uncharacteristically poorly from the 3-point stripe, especially for a home game. Missed a LOT of open/good looks (Bowers and Ross in particular). Ross was shooting over 60 percent from deep at Mizzou Arena entering that game, for example...

I don't think either team played its A overall game last night. Probably a B+ from Missouri and a B or B- from Florida.

I'd give Florida a B+ or A- defensively (REALLY impressed with them). Probably only a C game for them on offense, though.

Missouri played its A game on D (need to keep seeing that) and a B game offensively.

Hope we see a rematch in the SEC tourney final...

Mizzou shot a putrid 22.7% from 3pt compared to Florida's 30.3%. However, Florida averages 39% from 3pt while Mizzou averages 33.8% so the comparative differences from the norm were 9% and 11%, respectively. The major difference is that Florida attempted 11 more 3's than Mizzou. Additionally, Mizzou was only 1.5% off from their normal FG% while Florida shot 8.6% below their average FG% and were 50% from the foul line (include at least 3 missed front-ends of 1-and-1's).

MU played their best (IMO) defensive game of the season which affected the gators. They walked into a hornets nest and got beat by a team that is difficult to beat in CoMO. Pressey elevated his play for most of the 2h which aided the comeback.

As for the possibility of a rubber game, meh. There is no doubt who the better team is

Not disputing that Florida is a better 3-point shooting team than Mizzou. Just thought it was interesting I hadn't seen many Florida fans acknowledge that Mizzou wasn't exactly shooting lights out, either.

You're not the normal interwebs Florida fan, though. (Much better)

Without looking at the data, I would bet that Mizzou shoots a higher percentage at home than Florida does on the road.

So both teams were below their season averages by roughly the same amount.

This game just came down to making plays at the end. Mizzou has been extraordinarily bad in those situations this year. Florida just happened to be the team that caught them when they didn't shit themselves.

Yes... as I stated previously.

Kind of. Florida was horrid from the foul line which didn't allow them to close out the game. Florida was also affected more by poor shooting from 3pt range since they took 11 more 3pt attempts than Mizzou. Florida's FG% overall compared to their average was lower than Mizzou's.

It came down to Florida's poor shooting (3pt, field, and foul line) and Mizzou's defense causing TOs and disallowing Florida to go inside.

Haith and his lawyer have not commented fully on what’s in the notice of allegations, other than to say that contrary to a CBSSports.com report a month ago, it does not include an unethical-conduct charge that could have led to the dreaded multiple-year, show-cause penalty by the NCAA.
However, CBSSports.com reported Wednesday that Haith still faces the failure-to-monitor charge, which has less-severe consequences than the unethical-conduct penalty, which essentially prevents schools from hiring coaches. Haith’s situation would have been unusual — he had moved to another school before the results of the investigation.
But with no unethical-conduct charge, it’s a moot point. On its website, the NCAA describes failure to monitor as “a serious violation that is similar to lack of institutional control but considered less significant. Violations that result from a failure to monitor are usually limited in scope and do not involve widespread inadequacies in compliance systems and functions that are often found in lack of institutional control cases.”
Typically, schools and individuals named in the notice of allegations have 90 days to file a response, and that can be reviewed by the NCAA Committee on Infractions. Penalties could be announced months later.

The specific charges and Haith's initial response to them are expected to be revealed today, and he will have a chance to defend himself in front of the NCAA's infractions committee in a few months. His greatest ally in that fight will be a self-destructive opponent.

Haith has a high bar to clear if he wants to outdo Miami President Donna Shalala in the counter-punching department. The NCAA has accused Miami of a lack of institutional control for allowing Ponzi-schemer Nevin Shapiro to attach himself to its athletic department and spread his wealth in all manner of impermissible ways. Shalala responded to the notice of allegations aggressively.

"Many of the charges brought forth are based on the word of a man who made a fortune by lying," Shalala wrote. "The NCAA enforcement staff acknowledged to the University that if Nevin Shapiro, a convicted con man, said something more than once, it considered the allegation 'corroborated' — an argument which is both ludicrous and counter to legal practice."
So, basically, the NCAA "investigators" allow people to corroborate their own allegations.

Donna Shalala is pissed and I'm going to get a kick out of watching her and The U kick the NCAA around over this.

They NCAA should've quickly slunk off into a corner and let this die. Now they're going to get the full enema treatment from Miami and every lawyer they can come up with. This will get brutal if the NCAA doesn't tuck tail and run quickly.

And I'll love every second of it. What a !@#$ing corrupt organization these guys are.

If/when the superconferences get settled and break away from the NCAA, it's going to suck losing the basketball tournament (such as it is), but I don't think I will miss anything else.

And really, the tournament is so great because you're just hoping to see car wrecks in the first few rounds, anyway. A sixteen team tournament or whatever will be a better way to crown a champion, but it won't be as entertaining.

I mentioned this on another site, but what prevents colleges from pulling an Andrew Jackson and saying: "The NCAA has made their decision. Now let them enforce it"?

It's not like the NCAA has a police force or an army.
