If Geno rapes at the combine, watch Kiper do a, "Geno Smith is a guy I've had near the top of my big board for a long time. It's possible the Kansas City Chiefs spend their pick on him in an attempt to invest long term in a franchise calibre player at QB"

I have a feeling it will be more like "Geno Smith really set him self apart from the other quarterbacks in this draft. He impressed in all areas, including the interview and I have been told he is climbing up teams boards."

Just as Drew Brees didn't win consistently with the NFL's worst defense, Geno Smith didn't win consistently with college football's worst defense.
IMO, John Dorsey's comments about this year's qb class and Russel Wilson was a message to Geno Smith that he needs to convince Dorsey/Reid that he will be a leader of men at the next level. Watching Geno Smith sprint to the end zone from about 20 yards out (vs Marshall I think) shows he has the speed of a 6'3", 220# WR. With good coaching on his sprinters start and sprinters stride, I think he'll run sub 4.6 seconds in the 40. Draft "expert's" eyes will glaze over and he'll vault to the top of most mock drafts. |

The only reason to take Matt Ryan over Geno would be because he played in a pro-style offense, was a little taller and made more NFL throws.
Meanwhile Geno is a lot more mobile, has a much stronger arm and didn't throw 19 goddamn INTs.

Someone should taunt him on twitter with a comparison as equally ludicrous as Jonathan Ogden-Luke Joeckel.
I'm trying to think of the best one... Geno Smith - John Elway? Does that seem about right?

Geno only threw 20 Ints in his whole college career combined.
