Petro is smarter than this, you'd think. But whatever reason, from the very beginning of the offseason, he's been steadfast against drafting a QB at 1.1. Maybe his insider Bob Globby has turned him off to the thought?

because so far Albert hasn't been anything particularly special at LT and they probably think he could be a dominant LG.

The question for the Chiefs is how much money he wants. He's a solid enough left tackle that i imagine the Chiefs would prefer to keep him and address other needs. The will do that unless Albert forces something by demanding top LT money.

Bob Glauber is Petro's NFL "insider". I think he now writes for Newsday. He used to be on ESPN. He is one of these east coast bias guys, but Petro calls him on it regularly.

He's definitley above average at the position, imo. Clay once posted his career rankings at left tackle, and he graded out well. Plus like I said, he's been at tackle now longer than he was at guard in college.

Well, you said the Chiefs REALLY want to retain him but a lot of people around the league (which could presumably include the Eagles, Packers, and the people that are now in KC) see him as a guard.

So one could logically conclude from what you said that the Chiefs want to keep him but not as a LT.

He only gives up 1 sack per year more than Joe Thomas and is flagged less than 1 more time a year. How is he NOT special? How is he not top 10?

He's in the top half of the league and borderline top 10.
