Official 2012-2013 NBA Thread

Looks like James Harden has been To the Rockets for Jeremey Lamb, Kevin Martin and future picks. Plus... this is a general NBA thread.

The one thing you can say about Kobe Bryant is he always believes he can will his team to a championship. Even if you don't like him you have to respect that.

I think the Lakers will get in on that alone.

Shouldn't such a skill include willing his team to a win tonight? They weren't even close.

I want the Lakers to make the playoffs, but they are going to get bitch slapped in the first round . They get blown out by damn near every team that isn't under .500.

I hope the Lakers make it and get the Spurs. It would at least make a boring ass team like San Antonio worth watching then.

They were way out matched as a team. The thing about Kobe is he always thinks he can win it all no matter how bad the Lakers are. Call it delusion, call it will or whatever. He really ****ing believes it, and will fight you. He and Dwight Howard couldn't be more different. If Kobe breaks a leg he'll hop on one. If Howard gets a hangnail he'll miss 10 games. I don't like Kobe really, but his competitiveness is only matched by Jordan. They would kill their mom to get to a lose ball. Probably not a good characteristic to have in some facets of life, but it works on the basketball court.

SA will sweep Utah or Houston. The Lakers might make the series interesting if Gasol is back. I don't think the Lakers will win a series, but I'd rather play Houston, Golden State or Utah because the Lakers have experience, and size if healthy. They have played decent recently, and honestly haven't played many games with Kobe, Gasol, Nash and Howard together.

The Spurs aren't boring. They're perhaps my favorite team to watch because of the way they move the ball on offense. They play basketball the way it should be played. It's such a change from the rather stagnant/mistake-prone college basketball that I regularly watch and it surpasses anything any other NBA team can do in the half court.

His internal belief in himself is quite ridiculous. If Vince Carter had even half his will, the Raptors would have made it to a few NBA Finals last decade (and Vince's legacy would also be completely different than it is).

I agree. No one plays better basketball than the Spurs. They just don't provide the flash a lot of people like. Not boring to me in the least. In fact, I'm in awe of the system, and how Pop can plug and play.
