Rand Paul filibusters Brennan nomination for CIA director

“I will speak today until the president responds and says, ‘No, we won’t kill Americans in cafes. No, we won’t kill you at home at night,’” Mr. Paul said early on in the filibuster, which began at 11:47 a.m. and by early afternoon showed no signs of slowing down.

He looked like a party leader tonight, and I think that's why you started to see Republicans jumping on board there at the end of the night.

I particularly really enjoyed it when Ted Cruz read Shakespear's Henry V St Crispin's Day speech. It served as sort of a call for people to get on board now so they can say they were there all along. I thought it was a brilliant political stroke. It's nice to see Ted Cruz stirring the waters.

I'm not a huge fan of Rand Paul by any means, but, like I said earlier, I have no problem with this at all. Well done.

I'm keeping an eye on ol Teddy boy, he's making strides quickly. I would love to see him align himself with the Rand Paul or Tom Coburn types and not the same old crowd in the GOP.

I think he clearly is aligned with Rand, and demonstrated it pretty clearly during the filibuster. I'm pretty sure that Rand couldn't have pulled it off so well without the help that Ted gave in giving him breaks, and providing some lighter notes to the discussion to keep it interesting and engaging. Who could say for sure, but I believe they probably have been planning this for weeks.

Ron Paul endorsed Cruz...but Cruz would not endorse Ron Paul.

Would any of you drone haters shoot down a US Airliner with Americans on it if it was going to be used in a terrorist strike to kill other Americans?

If they have enough information on the ground to know that a US airliner is going to be used as a terrorist weapon, then they have plenty of time to alert potential targets and bring people to safety.

So no. **** no. That'a a really ****ing stupid question, dirk. Seriously.

Of course if they had days\hours then sure but we are talking about split seconds\minute decisions.

For example after the first plane hit WTC and they knew a second plane was headed that way and would impact WTC in 10 minutes do you authorize taking that plane down?
