Durant went through a phase this year where he was getting T'd up every game. It's been quite a while since he's had one. I'm not sure if it was part of his "KD's not nice campaign or what" Most of his were taunting type stuff though. It really seemed like he was just trying to shake the mamas boy image. The Thunder in general have issues at times when calls don't go their way. I don't mind ripping into the refs though. It's the worrying about the call and not getting back that pisses me off. Wait til a break in action. I wouldn't have had a problem about LeBron working the refs so much. These particular comments after the game seemed a bit childish. KD and Westbrook have definitely been out of line before and I will call them on it as well. They have chilled out recently and I think they are playing better as a result. Again, I'm not dissing LeBron overall, but I'm surprised he didn't handle it better. There are times when Westbrook won't talk to the media after games, and I'm sure this is why. I bet had LeBron waited a day he would handle it differently. |

The Thunder players would probably have less T's if their coach would pick one up here and there too.

Derek Fisher update. Brooks continues to force him in the lineup despite him offering nothing offensively. In fact, he's a spot up shooter despite being 0 for his last 18 shots. Jeremy Lamb when given trash time minutes would obviously be much better in that role. Deandre Liggins has been great when needed also much more deserving. Perry Jones you guessed it. It's also taking minutes from Reggie Jackson who has become a great finisher at the basket. Brooks when asked why he plays Fisher continually says he brings leadership and intangibles you can't measure. I say bullshit. Fisher is too old and has been awful. Scott Brooks stubbornness just pisses me off to no end. It's the reason I can't get very excited about the playoffs this year.
**** you Scotty! |

Derek Fisher hasn't been worth anything in like 5 years. Amazing that he still gets court time.

I remember every time Fisher got the ball on the Lakers I'd just pray he'd pass. He was worthless in pretty much every aspect of the game. And now he's 2 years older, can't believe he's still playing.

Derek Fisher's career PER is 11.8. It also hasn't been above 9.3 since 2008-2009 (and is 7.6 this year). To put that into perspective:

Brooks has strengths, but his resistance to get young guys into the lineup since the first playoff year is maddening. Jeremy Lamb could add much more to this team right now. Case in point he plays a few minutes the other night and scores 4 times as much as Fisher in 15 minutes. Veteran leadership means nothing if you can't play. Lead from the bench. The dumbest thing is he didn't take anyone's minutes that left. He's taking minutes from the existing rotation. Maynor wasn't getting minutes, but is being productive in Portland. You are taking minutes from Reggie, Thabo, Martin, and Collison for this asshole? **** you!

Per ThunderStats: “Derek Fisher recorded his 5th straight game with at least 2 field goal attempts without a make, matching the longest such streak since 1985.”
Scott Brooks: “He hasn’t made shots, that’s no question. But the good thing about it, he does so many things for us. He’s a very physical, smart, cerebral defender. He got a couple of steals and he always seems to be in the right spot taking charges. His shots are going to fall. He’s going to get three or four shots a game and there’s going to be a streak where he had earlier in the year where he made nine out of 12. That’s part of being a guy that comes off the bench that’s not going to be a focal point of the offense. I don’t worry about his last shot. I just want him to believe in his next shot.” ****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Heat sitting Lebron, Wade, and Chalmers tonight vs. the Spurs. Wonder what Stern will do.

Brilliant. I've kind of hoped all season we'd see the Heat/Spurs in the Finals. Besides the fact it'd be a great series and the Spurs are one of the few teams that could legitimately challenge the Heat... now you've got all these mind games.

Had a feeling Spo would do this. Lebron with a "hamstring" tweak similar to Ginobli's is fantastic.
But seriously, as a fan, this is bullshit. Understandable bullshit, but bullshit nonetheless. Pop pulled a shortsighted move and now Spo is trying to get him back. Hilarious! Except for the part where the fans now miss out on the two best teams (record wise) in the league. For the record, I don't think San Antonio gets by either OKC or Memphis if they run into either in the playoffs. |
