Very telling that two teams with potential to draft Geno Smith—Chiefs and Raiders—have acquired other quarterbacks.
and the Jags apparently are willing to go with Gabbert over Geno.

So when/if Arizona signs Carson Palmer, will that will leave Buffalo as the only fire break between Geno Smith and the 2nd round (or maybe more likely, the late 1st round via a trade up)?

All of these teams that are lauded for picking up backup quarterbacks are also among the five worst franchises of the last decade.

Coincidence?

Who else picked up a backup? The Raiders with Flynn, Az with Stanton. Who else?

True... But do you really believe this Chiefs regime would have chosen A. Smith over Luck or RGIII?

The Chiefs are victims of bad timing this year....
