FTR, I still think we should draft Geno at 1. But if we don't that doesn't mean we won't draft one next year. Reid said his job is to find the Chiefs next franchise QB, and it might not be this year. That tells me depending on what happens this year we won't be afraid to draft one in the first round next year. Although my opinion is that if Alex Smith fails we'll likely be seeing a new HC/GM again in the next four years. A lot of "experts" think Alex Smith was the safe move...Lol at that. We'll see.

I don't think KC scheduled this with the intent of throwing everybody off. Maybe they want to know what he is like before they close the door on him. Maybe they will consider him if they trade back and he falls. IDK, I doubt they take him, but I doubt this is an attempt to fool other Gm's after the comments they have already publicly made about the QB quality in this draft.

Explain to me why the Chiefs should spend a third round pick on yet another 5'9 cornerback, especially after signing Sean Smith and Dunta Robinson in free agency and why they need yet another tackle with Stephenson, Albert, Allen and Schwartz on the roster.

Por Favor.

I do think Daniel getting signed was a big sign, but in the end they can get out of his contract early if they have to.

I don't understand the fascination with Matheiu since he can't cover anybody effectively.

There's a lot of depth at CB this year and with Mathieu's background, he'll likely slip at least one round, if not two.

Not that it matters in the big picture, but I believe Schwartz will be manning a guard position on this team.

I could see late second round gamble by somebody. Jenkins was a steal for the rams last year. Thanks to weed we got Justin Houston. I won't be shocked if he goes in the second but will be surprised if he falls to the 4th.

The guy did tell me that it's not a smoke screen that they like the skillset and that they don't feel Geno is NFL ready off the bat, but they love his long term outlook.

He said the reason Reid wanted Alex is because they felt this roster was ready to win day 1 and that he wanted to give veterans on the squad (Hali, DJ, Charles) a fighting chance for success. He said they didn't feel Geno could come in this year and win with this team that he's just not ready. The morale of the team was terrible at the end of last year and they didn't want another pathetic season because they are trying to break this losing culture. That Alex Smith had a lot to do with trying to right the ship immediately.

Now all of this just could be team speak and they really just want to drive up the value, but it's what I was told. Believe it, don't believe it, it's all the same to me.
This is probably the most common sensical take on Geno that there can be. Gives me hope that this team is no longer ran by sociopathic retards.

Dorsey and Reid have seemingly made all the right moves in their short time here to this point. I trust that they will make the right decision with Geno. If they take him and let him ride the pine for a season, I see exactly zero problems with that, especially with Alex Smith here for a couple of years.
