Probably at this point the best way to deal with them would be you hand picking them off. Diatomaceous earth(silicon dioxide) around the base wouldn't hurt but would need a another application after getting wet. A liquid soap(regualr palmolive only, no bleach or antibacterial soap) and Dyna-Gro Neem oil solution seem to work well. Good luck, stinky fingers.

I did a raised bed this year. Same place I planted 2 years ago, but rain runoff down my driveway flows right to the same spot and it flooded out my plants. I planted in a different spot last year but it's harder to water over there.

So this year I built a raised bed out of some old 1x12 shelves we tore out during our basement remodel. It's not really that big, 4'x8' but enough room for a couple of 'mater plants plus another cherry tomato and then a jalapeno and a habanero plant. I got everything in late around the middle of May so really haven't had much produce yet. The tomatoes and the habanero look real healthy but the jalapeno looks sickly and only getting tiny peppers off of it

Gah. This year sucks balls.

There isn't a damn thing for the rabbits to eat within 100 miles so they eat the garden. Beans never got out of the ground. Okra never got out of the ground. We got some cucumbers and squash early but they're done. Wife got two tomatoes. One is setting on some small ones but we'll see if it survives the varmints.

The cover crop idea didn't work worth a damn. I think if I'd have waited and put later season crops out there it would have worked better. The kochia sucks bawls and wife is unwilling to pull them out. So I think we're done with them. But I REALLY think they have a lot of potential. Particularly on my shitty ass bottom ground. It might take some more insecticide, but I like it.

Either way, I think we're done with those.

Hopefully next year it will rain sometime after march.

Check the axle seals. Make sure the gearbox has oil and let it sit. They are notorious for the seals going out. Great tillers otherwise. My horse is still going after 25plus years. 8 horse kohler

Thanks for the advice. Dude I bought it from had all the manuals and was showing me all the different things to check and keep lubricated. I love buying used stuff off guys that take care of their equipment.

Anyone have experience growing vegetables in extremely sandy soil? I moved about a mile away from the Missouri River in an area that has flooded several times the last 10 years. Trying to get rid of ****ing sand burrs in the yard before I reseed it. What a bitch

You'll have to mix in at least fifty percent legit soil, and your veggies will grow a little slower.
