Pro-gun celebrities

So, the media makes it very clear who is anti-gun. They make it seem that our “heroes” are all against firearms and we should follow suit. So, which celebrities are bucking the fashionable thing to do and supporting gun owners? Which past celebrities supported gun ownership? Some names surprised me. Feel free to add more.

Bruce Willis, Chuck Norris, Brad Pitt, Anjelina Jolie, Joe Perry (Aerosmith), Miranda Lambert, Donald Trump, Eric Clapton, James Earl Jones, Christian Slater, Clint Eastwood, Whoopi Goldberg, Howard Stern, Ted Nugent, Marc Anthony, Johnny Depp, Robert Deniro, Tom Selleck, Lou Ferigno, Karl Malone, Big Boi (Outkast), James Harrison (NFL), Jeff Foxworthy, Charles Barkley, Mike Royko (Chicago Tribune), Ice-T, Joe Montegna, Steven Segal, Chuck Woolery, Penn Gillette and Raymond Teller, Gretchen Wilson, Charlie Daniels, Gerald McRaney, Jonathan Davis (Korn), Roger Mosely, George Orwell, James Hetfield (Metallica

“If someone has a gun and is trying to kill you, it is reasonable to shoot back with your own gun”-Dalai Lama

“Among the many misdeeds of the British rule in India, history will look upon the act depriving a whole nation of arms as the blackest”-Mohandas Ghandi

“As we have seen, the first public expression of disenchantment with nonviolence arose around the question of “self-defense.” In a sense this is a false issue, for the right to defend one’s home and one’s person when attacked has been guaranteed through the ages by common law.” –Martin Luther King

True enough, but when it comes to celebs, there is a disproportionate number of them that would love to "take away the guns" comparatively speaking.

Hypocrites, the lot of them.
Certainly you understand the point. If these people are so anti-gun, perhaps they should start by turning down roles with gratuitous gun vilolence.

For example, if hollywood doesn't think what it shows in its films/television doesn't influence people, why was there a big movement a few years back to stop having their characters smoke? Other countries are considering it as well.

I'm suprised they got a response from Mike Royko.

He passed away in 1997. Other than that I'm cool with the list.

Royko is my all time favorite.

I figured most of the listed people, like most people, are actually in favor of some type of gun regs, so I picked one of my favorites and did a quick check. So is he "anti-gun" now?

Cracking down on gratuitous movie violence isn't the answer — "You can't infringe upon their rights" — ,but better gun control might be, De Niro says. "I think one thing that there should be is some regulation of guns," he told us. "It's crazy how almost anyone can get access to a gun. That itself is not so good."

Evidently Bob has been spending extra time with the likes of Mark Wahlberg and Matt Damon.

Point taken. However, it seems he was being interviewed on the tail of the Newtown shooting and, as I interpret it, thinks the mentally unstable need to be kept away from firearms. Which is something I've stated on here more than once.

Quote:
As for Newtown specifically, De Niro questions whether it was a good idea for Nancy Lanza to take her son Adam to a shooting range. "I was just told by somebody that it was a soothing way for them to connect," he says. "And that's interesting, but still, don't take an unbalanced kid to a shooting range. Maybe I'm just being simplistic; I don't really know the details. But take him to see animals and play with animals."
I'm a De Niro fan also and included him because he is a CCW holder.

Quote:
Movie stars - like De Niro, Harvey Keitel and Steven Seagal - and millionaires - like Donald Trump and Winthrop Rockefeller - have to meet the same requirements as anyone else, he said. But unlike everyone else they ALL got permits.
Quote:
Other big names licensed to carry a gun include actor Robert De Niro, shock jock Howard Stern and supermarket mogul John Catsimatidis. Billionaire Donald Trump and his son, Donald Jr.; celebrity lawyer David Breitbart, and artificial-heart inventor Robert Jarvik can also carry steel, police records reveal.
