Sac's "If I was GM Mock Draft"

Albert has lost his mind wanting 10 million a year. He's a top 15 tackle that deserves, at maximum, 5. He still doesn't have very good footwork and gets lost a lot on the second level. Buh-bye. We take the Dolphins first second rounder and Stephenson gets his chance in the sun. (And he's got better feet and athleticism than Albert anyway.)

1. Geno Smith, QB; West Virginia: 6'3", 220 lbs.

- While there is a lot of talk of either Fisher or Joeckel, Geno is still the best quarterback in this draft and there is a significant drop off in talent at that position after him. However, there are tackles in this draft past Fisher and Joeckel that give you just as much as either of them. Chiefs draft Geno in a BPA victory for the fans and the future of the team.

2. Kevin Minter, ILB; LSU: 6'0"; 246 lbs.

- IMO, the best ILB/MLB in this draft. Incredibly instinctive, is able to take on and shed blocks and has the athleticism to drop back into coverage on RB's and TE's. A sure tackler that wraps up the ball carrier.

3. Phillip Thomas, FS; Fresno State: 6'1", 208 lbs.

- The only non-BCS conference player who was named to all five official First Team All-American lists. Had as good a season as anyone who has played the position in the last decade. Incredibly instinctive in both the pass and run, he attacks the ball in flight and looks to make the big hit on the ball carrier.

3. Barrett Jones, OL; Alabama: 6'5", 311 lbs.

- Think about this - First team Freshman All-American at guard. As a Sophomore, Jones was a First Team All-American at guard. As a Junior, he won the Outland Trophy (given to the best lineman in college football) at left tackle. As a Senior, he wins the Rimington Award, given to the best center in college football. (The only player in college football history to win the Outland and Rimington at different positions and only the second player to win both awards.) He plays and dominates in the National Championship game while having a broken foot (lisfranc). The guy is incredibly good at any position, is tough as nails and very smart. (Three time Academic All-American and has already finished his masters degree in accounting with a 4.0 GPA.) I want this guy on my team.

4. John Simon, DE/OLB; Ohio State: 6'2", 257 lbs.

- The two time Buckeye team captain led them in sacks and tackles for loss for two consecutive seasons. He is absolutely relentless and never gives up on a play. To quote OSU coach Urban Meyer: "Boy, he just lost it in the locker room, as far as just sharing, opening up his soul for the team. And I've done this a long time, man -- mark it down, you can put up a jersey somewhere that says John Simon because that's a grown-ass man. If we have another child, I want to name him Urban John Simon Meyer or something like that."

5. Oday Aboushi, OT; Virginia: 6'6", 308 lbs.

- A three year starter at left tackle, Aboushi is athletic with an excellent first punch and very good flexibility, Aboushi also plays with a very nasty demeanor. Plays with very good functional strength. Had a very good Senior Bowl where he controlled the North's pass rushers with ease. Graded out at over 90% in every game his senior season and averaged 10+ knockdowns per game. First team All-Conference.

Aboushi recently stated: "One of the reasons why I play this game is because you get to beat up on people without getting into trouble. I love finishing plays, I love dominating opponents, I love making opponents give up and surrender to your will."

6. Joe Kruger, DE; Utah: 6'6", 270 lbs.

- Led the Utes in sacks and tackles for loss in 2012. Superb motor, strength and very good athleticism, he plays through the whistle and is effective in bull rushing his man back into the pocket. A lot of upside as a one gap 34 DE.

6. Nick Kasa, TE; Colorado: 6'6", 246 lbs.

- A former defensive end, Kasa made the switch to the offensive side of the ball his junior year at Colorado. Enormous with excellent athleticism and strength, Kasa has huge upside. Thrives in blocking his man into the ground. Should be a superb special teams player right off the bat.

7. Rex Burkhead, RB; Nebraska: 5'10", 215 lbs.

- Shifty with a very good initial burst. Very good instincts and finds holes in the line quickly. Excellent hands out of the backfield and has a willingness to hammer into guys. Reminds me a lot of former Chiefs RB/FB Kimble Anders and should be able to fill that exact same role for this current Chiefs team.

Don't think Minter will be there for that Dolphin #2, but I sure wish he would be.

Love the idea of supplementing the offensive line from the Albert trade with Jones and Aboushi.

Give us a depth chart for this mock, Direckshun. This is the kind of thing that would only ever happen in my dreams.

Tell me we can't find a legit LT out of these guys:

Stephenson
Jones
Aboushi

That's a lot of talent, but also a lot of youth. But I'd bet anything that Reid can find a hog he likes out of that bunch.

Same goes for RT

Schwartz
Stephenson
Allen

The result is an extremely flexible line that will need to gel. It won't be pretty at times, but by the end of the season I'd bet we start seeing some high quality ****ing play out of this bunch.

I seriously feel that Jones is the best offensive lineman in this draft and Aboushi is as good as either Joeckel or Fisher. Both guys can really play some football and are just downright nasty on the field.

LT: Stephenson or Aboushi
LG: Hudson or Jones
C: Jones or Hudson
RG: Asamoah or Schwartz
RT: Stephenson or Allen

I'll take that all day long.

Stephenson or a mid round scrub LT prospect protecting the QB?

Von Miller will be thanking you all next year for the 5 sacks he'll get from owning those guys in the 2 games we play.

Joeckel is a rookie and hardly a guarantee that Alex Smith won't get raped.

At least this way keeps our options open instead of blowing the 1.1 pick on fat cum

Yes. That's the answer.

You ask him a position to play on the OL, and he plays it. That's what Barratt Jones is.

Only two picks in this draft that I find unrealistic, by the way: Jones at the 3b, and Kasa at 6b.

I'm willing to forgive Kasa, because good talent always falls. But something like 25 teams love Jones. He might not make it to the third.

That said -- it's a really good mock, except I'm starting to feel a pretty significant "stock down" on Geno.
