WTF? Lawmakers, aides seek Obamacare exemption while Individual policies to cost 25-50% more next year
Lawmakers, aides seek Obamacare exemption
Congressional leaders in both parties are engaged in high-level, confidential talks about exempting lawmakers and Capitol Hill aides from the insurance exchanges they are mandated to join as part of President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul, sources in both parties said.
The talks — which involve Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), the Obama administration and other top lawmakers — are extraordinarily sensitive, with both sides acutely aware of the potential for political fallout from giving carve-outs from the hugely controversial law to 535 lawmakers and thousands of their aides. Discussions have stretched out for months, sources said.
Individual policies to cost 25-50% more next year
In the latest preview of prices for health coverage under the Affordable Care Act, Maryland’s dominant insurer says proposed premiums for new policies for individuals will rise by 25 percent on average next year.
McConnell: Entire Country Should Be Exempt From Obamacare
Wednesday night, Politico reportedthat top lawmakers on Capitol Hill were in talks to exempt themselves and their staff from ObamaCare’s health exchanges. According to the report, aides for Speaker Boehner, Majority Leader Reid and Obama Administration officials were negotiating a congressional carve out from the law. In an exclusive to Breitbart News, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s office blasted the talks.
Is this progress?

Yeah no need to fear this government. The level of corruption is astounding on so many fronts.
A couple of good posts in response to the links:
"The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable
of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to
limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary
common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a
man for their president." "The problem is much deeper and far more
serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America . Blaming
the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of
fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama,
who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of
fools such as those who made him their president."
We need to get voter ID laws on the books. It should not be an option to vote without proving that you have that right.
