If the Chiefs go 8-8 or better 49ers get a 2nd round pick.

A third- or second-rounder from Kansas City, the remnant of the Alex Smith deal. Now it can be told: The second draft choice San Francisco will receive from the Smith deal will be K.C.'s second-rounder in 2014 if the Chiefs go 8-8 or better this season. It will be a third-rounder in 2014 if Kansas City is under .500 this season.

So: San Francisco will probably have first-, second- and four third-rounders next year. But if the Chiefs surprise, it'll more likely be a one, two twos and three threes. As we've seen, GM Trent Baalke is dangerous with extra picks in his hands. If Colin Kaepernick is very good, the Niners should be annual contenders for years with the picks laid out that way.

I never said alex smith was elite, or top 15, or that he would lead the chiefs to anything. So, hence, you are a follower. You and the few malcontents that keep the animosity level here sky high, you know the group that thinks that this is the same situation as 2009, and anyone that tries to disagree with that, is labeled a homer, or a "true fan" and you fit right in there with that. Stand on your own two feet, be a man, don't run with the pack, and follow, like a sheep. that's what I mean by leader. You are a coward, and you think that by stating some faux pau bullshit at me, claiming I spread bullshit, is going to offend me? Pffff, you should prolly hope that your super ignore starts working again, because really, I have no problem with putting your in your place. Sheep boy.
I never called anybody a true fan or anything like that. I just don't like the bullshit you post so I just ignored you. It's that simple. I don't ignore a lot of people. You just managed to be enough a bitch to make the list. You should be proud.

And it's funny that a guy who dick rode Alex Smith all the way to another team's forum is calling ANYONE a follower.

joe flacco, Drew Brees, and Aaron Rodgers, are all counting 20 mil against their teams cap this year.

Alex Smith for a starting veteran qb in this league, is cheap by those standards.

Im not a follower, I came here with the intentions of just naming some of the positives, and I actually thought that people would be excited about alex smith. I care so much what you think of me. you don't even know me. Its cute that you go all internet tough guy with it though queen. Really cute. Flacco is only a 6.8M hit.

Rodgers is a 12M hit.

Brees, in his second year under his new contract, is a 17M hit.

But we can stop pretending that Alex Smith would get anywhere near those numbers.

They've also spent a boatload of cash this year. You've got to balance cap with cash and throw a dash of common sense in the mix every once in a while too.

Common sense eludes a team that continues to bake a cake with a broken recipe.

aaron Rodgers, THIS COMING YEAR, is counting 25 mil against the packers cap. I would know, I live here.

And no, alex smith isn't worth that. But an extension would put him in the 10-12 mil range, and why spend that now, they have him under contract.

If Alex Smith plays well for the next year, or two, he can get upwards of 12-15. Am I wrong on that?

And Aaron Rodgers isn't even in the top 10 in terms of cap hit at his position. Alex Smith is cheap and he has 2 years left on his contract.

Cliff Notes on this Thread!

Alex Smith Sucks! He is the worst QB to ever play the game. Alice is injury prone, can't read defenses, can't throw and was the worst option for the chiefs. The 9ers are smart and will win multiple SB's becasue of the trade and the Chiefs will be doomed for decades.

Alice we hate you, don't want you here and would rather see you die in a fire than throw one pass for us.

Anyone that likes Alex or the trade is a Ballwashing Homer and can die in the same fire.

**** you Andy, **** you Dorsey, **** you Clark, **** you Chiefs and a double **** you Alice Myth!!

No, I probably would have. I have no problem ignoring Sweet Willie Hate or w/e his name is and he's an Alex Smith hater. Hating Alex Smith has nothing to do whether I ignore you or not. Being a bitch is.

Yes, he's very cheap for a starting NFL QB. You're embarrassing yourself.

He's the 17th highest paid QB in the NFL in terms of cap hit. That's lower half, for the math challenged. If you eliminate QBs on their rookie contracts, it's 17th out of 24. That's lower third.

OR...It's just a bad deal because he's a bad QB.

That simple...
