Homeland Security. More Power. And this time...Domestic Spying

The juggernaut of the DHS and its morphing into a larger and larger more dangerous and costly arm of the government may get power that no one, even libs, want them to have.

Is this an issue that could actually unite R and D?

The Democrats forced DHS on Bush?

Yes. It's amazing to me how many people who were adults at the time don't know this history. It's the same with the prescription drug entitlement and with Obama's temporary extension (and in some cases permanent extension) of the Bush tax cuts. Sometimes the opposition wins the political battle and forces the POTUS to do something he doesn't want to do.

So how are drones different than helicopters or satellites? Am I missing something?

Bullshit the R's and neo cons lost their minds demanding this be done. I don't mind assessing blame when blame is due but this is 180 degrees off.

Nope. How quickly we forget. See the CNN article I linked earlier in the thread. It tells the same story I do.
