Obamacare has already started solving this problem by penalizing hospitals with high readmission rates of medicare patients. But we've already been through this.

You need to read the actual rules before you embarrass yourself further. The max benefit is $200 for the person you described and the average is over $170. The program allows deductions for rent an utilities and medical and all sorts of other expenses.

The literature describes the hypothetical you put forth and it's on the bottom of page 2:

If I don't cook, my family doesn't eat. My wife rarely ventures into the kitchen. (Not that that's a bad thing, as it turns out.)

I hereby charge my freeloading family with being on food assistance.

so you still haven't talked to an actual person such as I described?

-receiving 877 social security , single...

Try talking to a real person some time, maybe you wouldnt be such an assberger clown or perhaps understand that most people don't just get the "maximum"

I work with people who get social security. For my living. I am good at what I do...the ones I work with get about 50$ if they are single and receiving their 877$ social security ...If you know people who actually get the $170 maximum per month ****ing RICHES and overwhelming massive lottery ticket that obviously buiys WAY too much groceries, then good for you. Every one I have seen who is single and receiving SS gets 50 bucks.

Seriously try talking to real people.

What good is a society that cant or wont help the less fortunate a little bit...? Serious question...but shouldn't one of the 1st things a society does is develop a safety net for bad harvests/bad years/ bad times...etc?

I'm not necessarily talking about life time welfare, but like allowing people to starve seems a bit harsh to me and unrealistic.

Ok. I'll stick with the actual literature on the eligibility, you stick with personal anecdotes. Fair enough.
