Off Season Lets Talk Guns
Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.
Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon? Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware? Part 2: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=293623 Last edited by Bearcat; 07-28-2015 at 06:06 PM.. |

they made a few native 45ACP in the 30s and conversion cylinders since then. This a Talo 'exclusive' the Wiley Clapp SAA in 45ACP that were made in the custom shop. My dealer does a ton of colt work and offered it to me for a great price.

I'm thinking about getting another .40, this one purely for competition shooting. Need something with a long barrel that is easily capable of being tricked out with optics, better trigger, magwell and perhaps even a compensator. Finalists are XD Tactical, XDM with the 5.25" barrel, or the Glock 35. Actually leaning toward the Glock - I don't really care for the XD and the XDm is much more expensive.
I want to end up with something like this, only in a 35. |

Good 9mm price. It's too bad I've spent around $900 on 9mm, 223, and 5.45x39 in the last month. Wife has me on lock down from ammo purchases for a while.

While perusing various mods I found a thread on the XD forum about painting in gun engraving and decided to give it a try. Basically you use fingernail polish, let it dry and them wipe off the excess with non-acetone polish remover. The white worked like a charm - the red was a bit more of a pain - worked okay on the S&W, but the engraving isn't as deep on the XDm and it didn't take at all - had to switch to all white (I might try going with red model paint instead if I do this again). But it came out pretty good. I'm not going to do this to my 1911, but definitely the AR. Note - pictures are blurry because of the camera phone - lines are much crisper than they appear.

does anyone have a glock 27 that they would let go of? I would like to try it out and if I like it, buy it.

Most people did just fine at the range, though there was an older guy there (probably in his 70's) shooting a .45 of some sort. He was having trouble controlling it at first, but ended up qualifying just fine. All-in-all it was a good class and I'd recommend it for KC-area people. |

OK I know they're donkey lovers but here's a link to the donation page of one of the groups running the CO recall campaigns.
https://www.basicfreedomdefensefund.org/?q=node/33 I tossed some money their way even though I don't live in CO. Hell if you slam these people down maybe they'll think twice. Stand together or fall apart!

Since the game is fairly depressing to this point.....
Here's my XDm, with added grip tape and filled in engraving. I like the engraving, but I'm not sure about the tape. While I like the feel of it, it looks a little cheesier IRL than I thought it would. They offer it in dark gray or black - I may switch it out. Thoughts? |
