Why people laugh at Creationists

Taking a lead from Killer Clown I thought I'd create a alternative thread to post some videos I like...

[EDIT New video here]

So on with the show:

Here's the Kent Hovind Theory:

"Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it.
Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many.
Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books.
Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders.
Do not believe in traditions simply because they have been handed down for many generations.
But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it."

The guy makes a lot of sense. I will say that I enjoy the "debates" put on with guys like Hitchens and Dawkins though. The arrogance (to me) comes shining through from the other side in those situations, and it can be hilarious watching someone attempt to use logic to validate/justify their system of faith.

I'm not a fan something founded of faith being debated either and I'm a believer. I like how Pascal put it "The heart has reasons for which reason knows nothing". The bible isn't a science book it's a book of faith, a story of man if you will, and I don't recall Jesus talking about the science behind things in the NT either.

Sure, I get that. I think it's more of an honest and meaningful approach.
