Dan Pompei: Haley to be fired, replaced by Josh McDaniels?

http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/...litz-2021.html

*If, as expected, Todd Haley does not survive in Kansas City, Josh McDaniels could end up with the Chiefs three years after many thought he would land there. Chiefs general manager Scott Pioli could hire his old buddy from their New England days to be his head coach—if he could sell McDaniels to Clark Hunt. Or, Pioli could hire a defensive minded head coach and make McDaniels the coordinator, assuming McDaniels is fired in St. Louis. Aside from the Pioli connection, another reason McDaniels makes sense on the other end of Missouri is he has a strong relationship with Matt Cassel. In fact, the quarterback and his former offensive coordinator still talk frequently.

Bradford suffered some severe set backs this season under that douche. He looked like the next Matt Ryan before and now his coach and staff are likely to get canned.

This isn't even rape. It's more like the movie groundhog day, only this fanbase wakes up in the shower with Uncle Tickles and his angry pickle at 2nd mile camp.

I'm not sure how bad Stanzi must be in practice because I'm pretty sure Kelly Gregg could be as successful at QB in the nfl. Steve Erkle could probably do what Palko is doing.

Another season with Cassel behind center and McDaniels as HC may very well be the straw that makes me decide to tell dad why my ass is sore and break my give a damn about this team forever.

I've been saying for the past 4 weeks.

Haley is done. The Orton claim simply assured me of it.

Next season KC will not draft a QB. Instead Josh McDaniels will be hired and Orton and Cassel will compete for the #1 QB job.

"We feel we're pretty deep at the position. We have two solid guys".

Haley may be done, I won't cry if he is, but I'd bet he isn't done.

The Orton Claim being an attempt to fix a bad bet at the beginning of the season by not having a better backup is the only thing that was wrong with it.

McDaniels will not be here next year, it can not happen, it's too obvious. Any momentum he had coming out of NE has slowly died over the last three years, as has Cassel's.

Changes will come.

Yea, one that takes 3 years for a 1st round five technique 3-4 DE to learn his position, while other rookie 4-3 DL are successful right away.

Do they think the fan base is reeruned?

McDaniels, in and of himself, isn't bad. Problem is, if he comes, Cassel stays. So no.

Yeah, that's my feeling. Firing Haley, and keeping Cassel treats the symptoms rather than than disease.
