Was winning this game worth completely blowing any shot at a QB?

We are officially out of the running for any of the quarterbacks this year, barring an unforseen trade that is highly unlikely.

Enjoyable win, but as 'Hamas' would say, "pyrrhic."

I can see us drafting a QB again this year...just not one of the highly rated QB's that will go early in the 1st round like everybody wants. Unless somebody drops badly on draft day kinda like Rodgers did. It would be nice to see us draft a QB that actually developed into something other than a career backup at best some day.

Who was the QB that was expected to go top 5, and he dropped way farther than expected so they moved him to a back room where the ESPN cameras couldn't see him?

The bottom though is that if Pioli wants a QB in the first round he will get one, if he doesn't he won't. It doesn't matter one iota what draft position we are in - or what CP posters think. Might as well just sit back and wait, not much else to do. I'm certainly not going to get worked up over something I have no control over.

this win means absolutely nothing for next year...

other than Orton will now be the next worthless QB we waste years on while fans pretend he's 'good enough'....

it is mind blowing to watch people convince themselves - in less than 24 hours - that we're good rolling with Orton after 30 years of Ortons...

If this team doesn't draft a 1st round QB this year, then next year is already pointless...and every year after until we do

Kyle Orton...KC's Franchise QB....jesus ****

Here we go again.........

The Chiefs can draft a top QB anytime they want no matter their draft position. They just choose not to. They are free to trade up anytime........they just have to be willing to give up something in the short term.

They havent been willing to do this for nearly 30 years.

actually, they're not 'free to trade up' anytime...it takes a partner

the lower you are, the more likely it is that the guy you want is either gone or being targeted by other teams who may have better assets (higher picks)...

if you're high enough, you don't have to compete with anyone else...saying it doesn't matter is flat out ridiculous

I want the Chiefs to win the West, host the Ravens again at Arrowhead and beat them with a different QB.

Thats basically what i was trying to say above. The Chiefs have had their oppurtunities to select a 1st round QB or to trade up and get one...they just chose not to.

I'm torn. It was nice to see them win. I like Roemo. I like Orton a lot more then Cassel but...

I realize it's more of the same thing that hasn't worked for this franchise.

I'm in the RG3 camp but after his latest performances, us winning here & there, what'll happen after the combine, I think we might be well out of his reach. I could see him being the 2nd QB taken.

Some of the other QBs would be nice but they just don't excite me.

So if they really want RG3, it's the same situation I've felt regardless of the win yesterday. They'll have to trade up to get him if they want him.

yeah the Chiefs wasted three years of false hope on Haley and Cassel.

maybe if the next three weeks will show Pioli the way.

i liked what i saw from the team yesterday. (except redzone offense)

I think the offense will get better as Orton gets the timing down with the wideouts. He hasn't had a lot of practice time. You could tell the timing was off on some of the routes.

I don't want the Chiefs to go forward with Orton as the QBotF but I hope the difference is glaring enough that it shows Pioli (or better yet, Clark) that Cassel is most definitely not the answer.
