Which drugs have you used recreationally?

There’s a debate in DC right now that’s got me a bit curious about the people’s drug use.

I’m going to play fast and loose on what is considered a drug and how they’re grouped/separated. If you have tried any of these options, even once, please note it in the poll options.

Also, feel free to discuss anything drug related as non-politically as possible.

I remember what the evil bitch who got me hooked on coke said about heroin - that the high was so amazing that she knew if she ever tried it again she wouldn't be able to stop. That was some amazing insight from somebody whose nose was a vacuum cleaner for the white stuff.

I hardly drink anymore and honestly don't miss it. For some reason no matter how much or little I would drink I would feel like shit the next day. If its a real nice summer day on the pontoon I might get my dangerous on and drink a White Claw.

Pot has been an ever presence in my life but the demons are alcohol and was cocaine. Alcohol and cocaine go together like bread and butter. Last time I did cocaine I was sitting in my basement on a hot beautiful summer day. The basement was cool/cold as always and my nose was dripping as I surfed the interewebs. It was like I was giving myself a cold. At that moment I was like "what the **** am I doing? This sucks!" I quit that day and it was one of the best days of my life. As each day passed after that I just felt better and better. **** that shit!

I knew a guy that dipped his cigarettes in formaldehyde and then smoked them. He called it "getting wet."

I was excited to add another drug to the poll but then googled and found out it's basically just PCP. Very disappointing.

Mushrooms. Probably did those 5-10 times and each time I couldn't wait for it to be over. The sound of the Atari Space Invaders while on shrooms was mind capturing and hideous both at the same time.

Pink Hearts speed back in high school. Black Beauties and Speckled Birds where a thing. I never did much of that stuff but it was a thing back then. I remember a guy dumping out a black beauty on the little flat drawer of his drafting desk and snorting it. I think they called the contents Butterflies.

I only know about this from Training Day.

On the topic of nicotine, cigarettes, cigars, etc. I just never saw the appeal. I suppose it does have a calming effect but the fact that it doesn't really take you anywhere just screams "NOT WORTH IT" to me.

Like someone said earlier, nicotine use appears to be more of a need than a want or desire. It's like you've got to scratch an itch more than you desire the actual feeling it gives you.

I've had 6 shoulder surgeries, 2 back surgeries and 3 knee surgeries since getting out of the Army in 2004. I was taking opiods like they were candy for several years. Kratom got me off of them but now I need to get off the kratom lol.

Also, I have never smoked crack or done heroine, bath salts or ayahuasca. The rest of the list I've at least tried.

Where to start? I’m going to have to think about this. I have stories, but some of them are a little too dangerous to discuss. Even decades later. JFC, how I got this far in life is… well… I guess we all have a story.

Coke 4-5 times. I’m fine if I never do it again. The last time I did this only took one line and started to have a panic attack because it felt like my throat was closing.

Molly prob a dozen times. I’ll never forget my first time rolling. God it’s awesome. Would recommend to anyone looking to experiment. Pretty much just a concert drug tho

Shrooms 4-5 times. Got into it late because I always was terrified of hallucinating. I missed out. Don’t like heavy doses, but if it’s a reasonable dosage it’s a good time

I came of age in a small, small town in the 80's, right in the midst of the Satanic Panic. Drugs were the devil, but so was D&D and heavy metal. I was into all three!
