I love visiting Florida, too. Wife and I have thought about moving down there. But it wouldn't make sense for us since we have so many ties here.

But we visit as much as we can. Nice thing for us is that we have good friends that moved down there from here about 12 years ago so we always have a place to stay and tour guides.

They live in Lakeland (central Fl.) and that makes it nice to be a couple hours or so drive from just about anywhere we want to go down there.

Wife and I went to Key West with them a couple springs ago. Flew in to Tampa and drove the 7 hours down there. That was the best vacation ever.

We are heading back down to Florida in a couple weeks to visit. Can't wait to see that new Harry Potter ride. Last I remember the Spider Man one was the bomb.

If you are going to do it the time is now. My plan was to graduate college and then move to Florida because I love it too. Right after I graduated I met a girl and here I am still in MO.

I'm sure there's plenty of places where people are looking for roommates until you get on your feet. You're own room and a shared kitchen/bathroom could run as low as $300 a month depending on the situation. Unless you know someone down there that's a very viable option plus you may make a couple friends and network in the process.

Just remember, the first day you move in you have to kick the biggest roommates ass to establish yourself as alpha roomie.

I'm pretty much in the same boat, luv. I'm working, but I dont have the funds to do it yet. Its hard to find work out of state like that. Plus, you need a lump of cash to move with.

At 18, I left Springfield, Mo. without a prospective job, without even a high school degree, no skills and $325.00 in my pocket. People told me I was a fool. Ended up working on the oil rigs traveling around all over the South and Jamica, Mexico the bahammas etc for about 8 years until an oil rig blew out I was suppose to be on.

I has no english skills but I thought I could make it as a writer. Applied and educated myself and made enough money as a writer to travel the world for 2 years.

I was living the totally suburban lifestyle. Working as a Respiratory Therapist. Was saving lifes daily. Was as highly paid as anyone in the field but started to think about paying for college and how to get money for retirement. I would need a better paying career. I worked as an RT during the day. Went to school after work until 10:00 pm. Stayed up till 2:00 am working on computer stuff. Woke up at 6:00 am and started it all over again. For 2 long azz years.

The plan worked. Tripled my salary. Had the highest paying job I've ever had. The company loved me, I loved the job. But, we didn't want to live in suburbia after our son graduated high school. So, I left my comfy exsistence, chose to spend a year away from my wife and son to take a leap of faith that I could do this more advanced job in Florida, that they would like me. Gambled big time financially. So far, it looks like its all going to work out.

My whole life I've never taken a dime of grant or federal money. No help for school from my family or any state or city funds. So I don't want to hear that BS "I have no money so I can't change my life" argument.

The lesson is that you can change your life without help from others if you believe in yourself and are willing to bust your ass to achieve your dream.

Grab that brass ring Luv, live the life you want!

I will stay in the mountain west. Mountains and the crisp winter suits me. Never been much of a beach person. Closest thing to a beach I will go to is Seattle.

I'm not necessarily a "beach person" either. I love visiting Daytona Beach, but I wouldn't want to live there. Whatever city I choose, I'd want it to be landlocked. I can always drive a while to the beach if I wanted. I don't know what it is, I just love the atmosphere down there, as I'm sure you do yours. I also hate winter.
