2014 NLCS. Three wins from another WS appearance
2015 Clinched Central Division title and Home Field advantage in the playoffs. First team in MLB to win 100 games since 2011.

  • Made the postseason 11 times in the last 15 seasons.
  • Only 1 losing season since 2000.
  • Reached the World Series 4 times since 2004 and won as many championships (two) the past eight seasons as it did from 1965 to 2005.
  • Made the NLCS 9 times including the last 4 years 2011-2014
  • Three million attendance? Take it to the bank.
  • 65 post season wins since 2004. 22+ wins more than any other team.

He's a 3 true outcome player and has been for most of his career.

Let him go up there, take some walks, hit some bombs and strike out. You can't have a lineup full of those guys but they have a place and Mabry's attempts to turn him into...well, another Mabry....are just foolish.

Get that walk rate back up to the 12% range and his ISO back to .200+ and there's no reason why he can't continue be valuable. He'll be limited, but still valuable.

I like him where he is supposed to be, off the bench and fill in for the occasional day off. I really like tonights line up. Moving Carp down takes the pressure off, if thats even possible with Carp. When we are done with the DH tonight I'd throw Piscotty at 1B and let him sink or swin. He fails, let him be the 4th outfielder and come off the bench.

Not a huge fan of having Grichuk hit 2nd. He really should be in the six hole. Even if Carpenter is scuffling, he still gets on base, and that is paramount with Holliday and Peralta at 3 and 4.

I agree that Carp should be in the #2 hole. I was just talking about moving him down until he gets his head back on right. Bunch of Twitter posts that the Cardinals have fined him for coming in on his days off and earlier than he was supposed to on the days he is playing. I hope thats BS.

I actually think that's smart. They're trying to keep him healthy and sharp. If he grinds himself into dust it's no good for him or the team.
