Every single year of the Mahomes era the offense has improved over the course of the season. This has translated into an 80% win rate for KC since Mahomes took over. In short, Andy makes the right call around 80% of the time. I think that's pretty good.

The same for the defense. Spags took Breeland and Ward and turned both into competent play-making CBs. I think overall this group of CBs are probably more physically talented than those two guys. he took basically a small core of smart vets and a pile of nobodies and turned them into a SB-winning defense, that started the season dead last, but finished 14th. He also has a ring as a NYG, where he also took one of the worst defenses in the league and two years later made them into a top-5 defense. Spags probably can do it four times in a row.

Mahomes will bounce back. Not worried about Pat at all.

The NFL lacks impressive teams as a whole this year

We’re a top 4 team in October. We can be on top in February

Pat deserves some of the blame for sure but I just disagree with DJ on the other factors. Our OTs were poor, our WRs weren't getting early separation, and some of the play-calling was suspect. Mahomes is holding this offence together until he can't. Lord knows what he would do to the Bills with Fish and Schwartz and a top 10 WR.

The offense as a whole will grow in time. We'll be better in the second half of the year. However, when I see Skyy Moore having so few targets I blame Andy for that. It will all come together.

Yes. And going up against that type of competition, it will happen again. They need the quick strike capability against such teams and a guy that can get open when things break down.

Yeah I thought he was having a pretty good game until the last interception.

If it wasn't FOR Mahomes, many of the completions, continued drives and first downs wouldn't have occurred as he was under CONSTANT pressure and did pretty well under the circumstances.

Not perfect but pretty well.

Yeah. Defense put him in position to win the game twice and he totally biffed both times. It's more than a bit concerning going forth. Has no weapon besides Kelce he trusts and the OTs can't be counted on to give him the proper time needed.

My issue has always been with the argument that we need to focus on defence because Mahomes will always drag an average offensive unit over the line. Would I like a killer defence with a DL that abuses the Bills' OL, sure. But the first priority should be using whatever resources we have to give Mahomes time and surround him with talent. If he has both the D just won't matter, and we already know we can get a middling defence with below average talent.

Mahomes will win us games with magic. I just don't want him to have to do it again and again and again.

No pass rush. No pass rush. No pass rush. It sure would be nice to be able to send 4 and get pressure.

I told my wife late in the game that I was OK if we lost this game. We played, arguably, the best team in the NFL and went toe to toe with them missing 3 starters on defense. We all knew Williams would get beat like a drum all game. Thing is, would it have been much different with McDuffie playing?

That's never been the argument.

The point was to build a more complete team overall. And they've done that, but they are also very young. This team is not yet what they will be late in the season.
