It ruins the food including the flavor and taste. Just aweful. Even a cup of water from it for tea tastes horrid. I never use mine...well unless I am making fondant...but that's for special cake decorations and I don't eat those.

Fish, for instance, works very well in the microwave. But you have to seal it tightly with good plastic wrap to create a steaming effect. from Modernist Cuisine on Vimeo. |

Get fresh thighs or breast, dice, and marinate them in some of that Greek yogurt. Broil them until they start to char. Finish with your sauce (or make your own rather than that canned stuff).

I can't believe how easy and good baked chickeb breasts are. Light coat of olive oil. Salt, pepper, paprika. 450 for 20 minutes flipping halfway. Foolproof.

I never used to like dark meat until I got my big green egg. Now we buy boneless thighs from Costco, spice them up and cook a buttload on the weekends. Taste like steak. Best leftovers for salad and my new favorite breakfast - chicken and eggs.

Here's a really good chicken tikka masala recipe. My wife and I make this occasionally.
