If you refuse to even consider the possibility that the cops in a notoriously corrupt jurisdiction, who acted (by even your own admission) fairly questionably, are now covering their own asses, then I suppose you're right - there simply isn't anything left to discuss.

But I would again guide you to any other law enforcement thread on this board that I've ever participated in. I am generally vehemently pro-officer; but based on the reports and what I believe to be the likely conduct of the people involved in this one, I'm coming down on the other side.

Carry on.

For the record, I can't stand Pits either.

BigDaddy probably still hates me.

I think I can stand behind my objectivity. I like cops, I hate Pits and I'm almost always siding on the 'dont' want to get ****ed with, don't do illegal stuff' camp; but the cops were in the wrong here.

i love bulldogs and for the most part am neutral with the pigs. But facts are cops and pitbulls dont mix. simple as that. Aint shit gonna happen to this cop, the kid wont get any money. People on both sides will get pissed and the breed will just continue to suffer.
The seeds are sown and the crop has been harvested and put up.
Aint shit else gonna happen thats positive.

I'm unfamiliar with the law in Missouri, but in Colorado I believe that the invader isn't an invader at all until he enters the house.

I'm pretty certain I've said that I 'know' nothing about what he felt.

Everything I've said I have drawn from the facts and circumstances surrounding the event.

I've stated none of my opinions as an absolute fact, I've stated only that I'm comfortable drawing inferences from what facts we do have.

And that you've been shockingly closed minded about doing so yourself.

There are none so blind...

OK, thats pretty much what I was sayin. This guy, and anyone else that owns one knows that when they buy it, that someday, there is a good chance something might go down because of the dog. It was that day for this guy.

To DJ's nut, the dog doesn't have any constitutional rights, the way you are arguing, you would think you are arguing for the dogs rights. If you are this cop, and you make a poor judgement by entering the yard unanounced, and the dog attacks you, what do you do? I agree he made a poor judgtement entering the yard. I dont agree he made a poor judgement shooting the dog. He could have made the same poor judgement at my house, and my dog wouldn't have done shit but stand there and bark at him, so the dog is at fault here too.

If you think I was arguing for the dog's rights I would suggest that any point I've made has simply been lost on you.

I don't give two shits about the dog, as I have made readily apparent several times. I've said I don't blame him for shooting the dog once he foolishly created the situation.

In all honesty, I have no earthly idea how you could derive that I am arguing the dog's rights from anything I have said in this thread.

That's all well and good, Mr. DJ's left nut. But, what about cats? Shouldn't they have the same rights as dogs?

so he should've been practicing archery and not the potato gun. SHOTS FIRED!! SHOTS FIRED!!! TAKE THE DOG OUT BEFORE YOU PROCEED!!

if the dog is in the yard why would he, knowing the rep behind pit bulls, proceed in the yard?? its like hmmm I'll just walk into this lions den even tho I could just go to the front and speak to the handler to conduct a search or even call back up...but that would make too much sense. Instead lets make something out of nothing.

dude, you've been reaching all afternoon, and your argument hinges on the perspective that a crime wasn't going on, the officer knew no one was in danger, but he went in anyway. full of speculation.
