Marcus Cooper, De’Anthony Thomas injured at Chiefs practice

The Chiefs could be without two key players in Sunday’s season opener against the Tennessee Titans.

Starting cornerback Marcus Cooper suffered an ankle injury and rookie running back/punt returner De’Anthony Thomas strained a hamstring late in Wednesday’s practice, coach Andy Reid said on Thursday morning.

Neither player was expected to practice on Thursday.

I wasn't counting on him having that many opportunities to make plays.

I didn't see him lining up in the offense too often, probably less snaps than McCluster, and when is a team ever going to have to punt?

It's very simple. If you're a fan, you are so because it's a regional affair, not just hopping from one Donkey to the next Pat.

If you happen to not believe or HAVE FAITH in the franchise, that doesn't make you "not a fan". It makes you a person who simply has no faith. Like myself.

That doesn't make participation or discussions about said franchise any less valid or entertaining.

You would never hear me say, "I knew they would do it all along" if the Chiefs managed to win 10+ games this year. I would instead say, "they proved me wrong". I'm more used to the Chiefs proving me right.

And I'm more than happy to take a vacation of disinterest until they have shown that they are not same old Chiefs, hence my true fan support of other, more profitable local franchises.

They profess to want to build this thing up from the ground, yet they went out last year and got a quick fix.

Obviously, they felt like getting fans' money was actually more important than starting the process they knew they were going to start this year.

I have no expectations for this team. You on the other hand are probably going to be disappointed when they don't come CLOSE to repeating what they did last year.
