I just picked up "Heart Shaped Box" by Joe Hill (Stephen King's son). I haven't read anything of his but I'm hearing great things.

It's been a weird 7 weeks for me, I've never been a big reader... but, over vacation in April, I started with the Hunger Games.
I read the trilogy in about 5 days - liked it a lot. I then moved to the Postcard Killers, then the Grisham novel "A Painted House". And, I just finished the 3 books related to the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Now, I'm reading the Jungle (Cussler). Makes me laugh to think I've read 8 books in less than 8 weeks... guess there has been no football and nothing good on TV.

Destiny of the Republic: A Tale of Madness, Medicine and the Murder of a President
Fantastic read about the rise of a President who never meant to be president who was shot by a megalomaniac cultist. Ironically, the gunman didn't kill him. Interwoven with tales of the likes of Alexander Graham Bell and Joseph Lister amongst others. |

A buddy of mine is a new author - his debut is titled 'Southern Gods'. It has received really great feedback.

I've gotten into reading recreationally again.
I bought "Dead City." Other than WWZ -- are there any other must-read zombie books, or anything really post apocalyptic?! |

The Passage by Justin Cronin is very good, imo. It's post-apocalyptic vampire (though the vamps are unlike any other vamps in literature).
