Biggest rip off restaurants

It's either got to be one of them damn noodle houses or the Olive Garden. Personally I think it's probably the Olive Garden.

Sweeter is something I prefer. So maybe I'd grow me some of these.
Heirloom tomatoes:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heirloom_tomato

Most of the heirloom varieties I've encountered and/or grown were retained for their special visual qualities (shape, color, etc.). They certainly aren't the most flavorful of the tomatoes I grow.

The Tony Romas that opened here [it's in St. Louis Mills, a nicer version of great mall of the great plains] wasn't so much a ripoff as a precipitous drop in quality and service.
Went when it first opened, not bad.
Went a few months later, cold and sickly entree.
Went with some people who wanted to try it a few months after that. Stood around for 20 minutes with no one even asking if we'd like a seat.

Sacrilege! Blasphemy! Wow, I've never been to Tony Roma's before, but I'm sure not going now. Geez.

Thanks for the warning tho, because ribs are what I usually order at a BBQ restaurant. Yuck...

I'm just guessing that he's a fan of heirloom tomatoes because of the way they're produced...

We get some sweet heirlooms at a couple markets here. The little cherry tomoatoes are the sweetest ones I have had.

Thank you. I shoulda searched.

My daughter just got back from two weeks in Iowa ( Ames,Boone,Stratford areas) on aunty's small farm and had garden grown tomatoes. She noticed the difference and just loved them. I thought we had good ones here compared to Boston but these were full of flavor. So I'm thinkin' of growin' my own plus fresh herbs since they've gotten so expensive.

Herbs burn up fast too. Definately grow your own herbs

I grew three varieties this year. Two of them have virtually no flavor - the first is a small, yellow pear-shape and the other is a deep purple color, almost black.

It's worse at the movies. $10 for one small popcorn to share between two and two med sodas, mostly ice-----> $10. Rip off!

On the issue of ripoff I've got to say Subway. Not pricey but one slice of cheese cut in half and 2 slices of meat cut in half on a sandwich? Of course the things are low in fat and calories, there is nothing to them.
