Oh, Herm...you really put your foot in it this time...

Well, this should be fun!

Now, our offense will have to gel. Will it be a slow-starting? I don’t know. We haven’t played yet. I’ll answer that after we play. When we score seven points I’ll say we’re slow starting. If we score 21 points, I’ll say, ‘whoa, we scored a lot of points.’ 21 points is a lot, 30 points isn’t a football game. That’s Arena Football. We’re talking about real football.”

Look, after the Jets beat the Jaguars in the playoffs in January 1999 Bill Parcells said ''we needed to score at least 30 points to have a chance to beat that team''. he never said anything about controlling the clock or running the ball. Curtis Martin had like 250 total yards and the Jets won. they were UNPREDICTABLE ON OFFENSE!

Maybe if you had gone from a good coach to a bad coach you would understand it a little better.

The man obviously wasn't saying that you shouldn't score more than 21 points. (for ****'s sake) He was saying that this team shouldn't need too.

He's trying to instill a tough, hard-nosed, defensive mentality.
Jesus....

Agreeing with Reerun and Keitzman in the same day.

He's absolutely right.

It amazes me that it actually matters to people HOW we win or lose.

There's no difference between losing 35-31 and losing 13-10.

A loss is still a loss. Scoring 30 points and still losing doesn't make it any easier to swallow, at least for me.

I think if you put Bill Cowher, Andy Reid, or other excellent coaches in the same division as the Pats during that stretch (and had their QB get hurt 3 times), they would have struggled to get 3 playoff appearances and 2 playoff victories in that stretch.

And somehow Herm went to the playoffs last year with a strating lineup consisting of the reviled Samie Parker (who will be replaced by Dwayne Bowe by the bye week), Jordan Black, Kendrell Bell, aand over-the-hill Sammy Knight and Greg Wesley at safety.

You guys on this message board are always talking about how these are the worst players out there. Herm went to the playoffs with them!

Now he's in the process of replacing them, and by next year we should be ready for the next step.

All I understand is that Herm did a fantastic job with this football team last year. In the face of massive adversity he got us to the playoffs. He's the best head coach we've had in years. His ability to draft is incredible. The dude plucked a potential Pro Bowl safety in the 7th round. Are you kidding me? The guy would have to post three consecutive losing seasons to get me off his bandwagon. That ain't happening. 'Cus Herm Edwards is the SHIT! Mangina is just plain old shit.

Erik Coleman in the 6th round, Kerry Rhodes in the 4th round, Jarrad Page in the 7th round.

Who's the common denominator?

I want a damn coach with a killer mentality.
that game was an aberration, how does someone who not only made it to the pro level (pinnacle of their profession) but performed well for what 11 or 12 years against guys that were more physically gifted than him not have that killer instinct?

Not our fault if his current coach is mis-using him along with Vilma.

I'm not a Jets fan but do you read what you type?

The Jets went to the play-offs as well last year and played a helluva lot more entertaining and better game than our Chiefs.

I'd also bet $50 that the guy you're saying is plain old shit will make the play-offs again before Herm.

The Jets had an easy schedule. They got their asses handed to them by 21 points in the playoffs.
