Mark Mangino will not return as Kansas football coach, a source close to the situation told Joe Schad of ESPN Thursday night.
The team is scheduled to be told at a meeting Thursday evening.
Athletic director Lew Perkins launched an investigation into Mangino's treatment of players three weeks ago. The Jayhawks won the first five games of the season before going on a seven-game losing streak. Mangino was 50-48 in eight years -- two wins shy of the school record for a coach.
After going 12-1 in 2007 and winning the Orange Bowl, Mangino was given a raise and a contract extension through 2012.

I think Perkins will find a good candidate to replace Mangino. At least I hope so. I plan on buying season tickets for next season.

I think it will be a rough season though, for KU. Losing Reesing and Briscoe, that's significant. You still got Quigley.

I think it will be rough is that the new coach will come in, and probably implement his own offensive/defensive scheme and the players having to re-learn the differnet termonology and such.

I could be wrong but I think Kale Pick will be a good QB. And I think that McDougald will be a good WR.
