Out of all the posters who

used to post here, but for whatever reason, they no longer do, who do you miss the most/least, and why?

Most - KCTitus -> Dude was just absolute money with being an antagonist

Least - Skip -> This place got a lot more enjoyable for me once he hit the road. Maybe he's a mult, but not seeing the skip name makes me feel warm inside.

And you?

lol he didn't really add any informative Chiefs posts or any other sports related topics, but he was funny. He treated this place like a facebook or a myspace with Chiefs logos everywhere. I kind of thought he wouldn't be around that long because so. Funny guy.

I'm sure it isn't just the foul language that has driven not only Gaz away, but several others. I don't expect this to be a prayer meeting, but the "pack attack mentality" of this place has gotten much worse. We are a rather large group of (mostly) men who are talking about our favorite passion...sports. And with that comes alot of macho bravado....much like it would even if this was a face-to-face discussion. But not being face-to-face makes it easier for people not to have to account for some sense of decorum when chatting. Or, at the very minimum, a sense of respect for people who are having to deal with everyday personal issues.

And just so we account for it...I grew up in a family of Teamster truck drivers so I have a pair.
Posters are getting younger and younger. The younger generation is starting to outnumber the older generation. Sadly, the younger generation seems to not have been brought up to believe in respecting other people.

When I saw your new username the other day (you came clean about your disgraceful association with Excelsior Springs High School), I just thought it was a nonsense string of characters, but now that I've figured out who you are, I realize what it's about. I figured out who you were because of your avatar, btw.

In defense of Gaz, he stated his piece about language and left. I'm cool with his not liking the language and the general tone of the board. He made no apologies for his likes or dislikes.

He was quirky, funny and smart as anybody who has ever graced this board. He always talked about having a defense that would "crush pencil necked QB's" .

I remember him taking exception to somebody here who had a degree in computer engineering. Gaz, as an electrical engineer felt that term wasn't appropriate for somebody who had no real "engineering" at all. It was a hilarious thread. (I think it was a Star board thread).

I agree with Gaz about the language. but IMO tone is even more worrisome here. If a post say's "f@#%ing this or that" I have no problem with it.

But when that kind of tone and language is directed at someone without the dealer even knowing anything about this target, the very audacious aggressiveness invites equal or bigger testosterone filled reply. Pretty soon there's this vicious circle neither can stop, especially when some others jump in with asshole remarks about one of the posters.

THAT's what is so unpleasant that makes prominent posters like Gaz leave.

That's the difference between you and me I guess. I have no problem with somebody calling me any name or making fun of my family or friends. It's words Frankie.

And I learned a long time ago that words cannot hurt me. (It really is that simple).

Yeah. Good luck trying to get that across on this board.
