Novice lifting can last anywhere from a few months to a year or two, depending on how hard you hit the weights and where you started. Once you've reached the point where you don't make regular progress on the SS program, you are ready to move on to the intermediate stage, which can last you for a good number of years. Most people don't just do the group WOD and then sit around all day. It's pretty common to do the WOD and then work on another skill like overhead squat or something else. I'm not sure what you think "just crossfit" or "WOTD stuff" is. What training are they doing that you're considering not crossfit?

Cutting soda is a great start. People rarely realize how many calories they're drinking and soda is one of the worst culprits.
90% of what I drink is water. Probably 8% milk. The leftover 2% soda and juice which I only ever drink when I'm eating dinner and that's only sparingly. |

Even at a local gym, there are juicers everywhere that you wouldn't expect, looks or strength wise. I've met plenty through my college days that you would never expect. Some of those douches were taking nasty oral steroids from GNC and had no ****ing idea that it was a designer steroid. I know the top Crossfitters at least aren't that reeruned.

Meh. I can handle the jokes people make about crossfit. I even understand a lot of the criticism. It's just stupid to say that the top crossfitters are getting good at crossfit by doing non-crossfit exercises (whatever that is in his mind) when he clearly doesn't know what happens during a crossfit workout.
