All Royals All The Time!

After consultation with others who peruse the game threads we decided to create this as a repository for all things Royals. Minor league news, AL (ahem) Central (thanks Vonne) news and anything Royals can be found here.

alnorth will continue the game threads as usual. But if you locate something of interest.. ANYTHING.. deals on apparel, best ways in/out of the stadium, giveaways, great stories from this season or from seasons gone by, rumors, trades, anything.... feel free to post it here.

If a big story breaks, you can still start a thread about it. There is merely an all inclusive thread that will make a easy for us all to keep up with all things Royals.

I've been looking around, and interestingly enough, most other teams already made their moves this week on who they are protecting. The Royals apparently want to take all the time they have to figure this one out because they have protected nobody yet. We'll probably have a flurry of moves tonight shortly before the 11pm Central deadline.

The Royals have just made their moves. They have protected the following eligible prospects from rule V:

Jeff Bianchi
Jarrod Dyson
Jordan Parraz
Manuel Pina
Blake Wood

Unless we got more coming, I guess we'll just have to wait and see if we lose Nicoll and/or Disco Hayes in December

to make room, we did the following:

Outrighted Lowery and Waechter to AAA. Either of them could refuse and become free agents if they want.

Kansas City Fails To Pick Up Option On Royals

KANSAS CITY, MO—In an expected move Wednesday, the City of Kansas City declined to pick up their 2010 option on the Royals baseball club, ending the team's 41-year tenure with the Missouri municipality. "It was time to move in another direction," Kansas City mayor Mark Funkhouser said at a press conference. "There were some vested incentives that would have automatically kicked in if the Royals had finished higher than last place, or won more than one championship in their existence. But we just couldn't afford to make another mistake like that 18-year extension back in 1991." The Royals have generated some mild interest from other cities, including Portland, OR and Copenhagen, though the Danish capital is said to be leaning heavily toward acquiring a public pool or parking lot.

Not enough for me. I also demand that the RF turf in Royals stadium that Guillen sauntered on be dug up and sent with him to the Mets.

I want a really fresh start in RF.
