(though admittedly, he did !@#$ us up something awful in game 1...)

But seriously, if we plate 1 against Arrieta today, I'll be pretty shocked. He's in total command of all 3 of his pitches right now. When a guy has 2 plus pitches that he can put wherever he wants, you're in trouble. When he has 3 plus pitches and exemplary command of all of them, it's a possible no-hitter every time out.

I agree. Arietta is all world. No hype. No BS. We wouldn't be surprised if he no hit us. But, the Cardinals just seem to find a way to win in the playoffs. Kozma in the 2012 NLDS? Who saw that coming? Wacha in 2013 pitching like a Hall of Famer? Adams and Wong with the big homers in 2014.

Someone you didn't see coming steps it up. Maybe in 2015 its Pham?

Maybe you guys know this but I didn't. Carp and Arietta were teammates at TCU. Arietta was a groomsmen in Carps wedding.

Carp is 0-15 against Arietta.

It's a long shot for us today. But, we have had win 2 games in a row or face elimination many times and been successful. Even if he kicks our ass today. The Cubs had better not be buying tickets to the NLCS just yet.
