RULES

Spoiler!

1. 12 hours for each pick. Unless it's on the weekends.....then your clock can go **** itself.

2. Make sure that you have PMs turned on. After you make your selection, PM the next person up to let them know that they're on the clock. If you know that you aren't going to be on and able to make your selection, PM a list of your desired picks (in the order you want them) to someone else. You can send those to me, or some other poster you trust. Make sure the person who selects before you knows who to alert when your team is on the clock. If you miss your pick, you will be skipped and you'll have to make your pick as soon as you can. If you miss two consecutive picks, you lose your teams.

3. Format your selections as such: *Insert team name* selects Player Name, POS, School. Make sure they are bolded so that people can see them. You can add pictures and explanations if you'd like but they aren't required.

4. Do a search of the thread before you pick to make sure that the player hasn't been selected. If you pick a player that has already been drafted, you face the wrath of the entire thread and you'll have to correct it. So don't make a pick and then leave for 14 hours. Stick around and make sure that you didn't **** up.

5. I and everybody else who help operate this mock try to keep up on NFL offseason news while the draft is in session. We input the comp picks, and we're usually good about adjusting the order for any blockbuster trades that may occur where the previously made picks aren't affected, but sometimes we miss things. It may be a good idea to keep up-to-date on your team's offseason moves regarding their supply of draft picks and let us know if stuff comes up so we can make the changes to the draft order. No, in the end, the true order will likely not be 100% perfect or accurate, but shit happens when you do mocks a month before a draft starts.

Walker Little isn't some proven stud. If you're going into the season with him at RT, it's still a question mark. Taking Wright gives you a guy that can start day 1 and probably be better. Little can be your swing T and gives you the flexibility to possibly get out of Robinson's contract next year.

The good news is that the actual draft will play out nothing like this. Reassuring. There shouldn't have been a choice to make at 31 for Branch or Gibbs because Branch is probably a top 15 player and Gibbs is probably going top 25.

Branch might be the best all-around defensive back in the entire draft. He just won't get picked higher than a couple of corners because he's ... not a corner. The fact he was even there at 31 was absolutely numbing to see. I wouldn't pick him based on that alone. I'd rather it look like the massive cluster**** it is.

At least there is a small chance that Gibbs is there. Andy Reid won't pass on that type of weapon, which is why they spoke to him already. I'm trying to at least give it some sort of realism. Maybe I'll throw that to the wind and draft a QB in round 2 simply because he should have been drafted by a team that's going ot need one in 2024 by now.

My take on this is that generally, people have researched players more that actually might be Chiefs next year, so the positions of actual need for the Chiefs get way over drafted and it makes whoever has the Chiefs job almost impossible.

The Chiefs are not interested in CB/S this year, and oh look loads of them fell.

I don't really see it as ****ing up, I see it as part of the fun of the draft, rubbing my hands together with glee when I see a great talent falling to me because he's not really on Chief's fans radar.

I can understand that this is especially frustrating when you're picking for the Chiefs though. Maybe that explains the terrible record on 1st round picks over the years

You're probably correct and maybe I'm just overreacting. I just want it to be realistic. I don't care who falls to the Chiefs, honestly.

I'm not bitching about DE because the Chiefs need one, hell there are plenty to draft this year and I can get one. As I said, there are a few I'm plenty happy with sitting there yet and the chances all 3 are gone at 63 are slim. And it could very well be the group of players and the situation (not taking DE at 31) the Chiefs end up in.

I am complaining because it's not me who's getting screwed or whoever mocks for the Chiefs each year. Everyone does because we end up creating an unrealistic pile of garbage that has players and positions going to teams that simply will go in another direction in the draft, and certainly won't double down in the top 35 picks.

It's simply not a competition to see who can out-draft the other guy with the best players. If it is, this is my last year. It should be to put some level of thought into what teams have done in the offseason (which is why this shouldn't start until at least after the 1st week of FA), gauge their current and near-future needs beyond just the primary standout need, and draft accordingly with the best players at the right times.

That said - you went off the board. I took Bradberry my year because it got picked clean. But there weren't any DE or WR reaches this time. You just liked the RB better.
