I've been wondering why we Mizzou fans don't have one of these.

If Missouri loses because it can't contain a Cincinnati post, it will be Yancy (who's 6'7/260) rather than the 6'11 or 7'0 players.

The 6'11 player (IBrahima Thomas) averages 5 points and 5 boards in 20 minutes a game. Basically equivalent of Baylor's J'Mison Morgan. The 'footer (Anthony McClain) averages six minutes, less than a hoop and less than 2 boards a game.

Those guys won't be the deciding factors.

This is an interesting matchup. Neither team has momentum on its side (Bearcats lost by 38 to Notre Dame and looked completely uninterested doing it). Cincinnati has some size, but those guys don't play much or contribute much.

If Missouri rights the ship, this is a game the Tigers can win. Cincinnati does not have a good matchup for Bowers (even Yancy lacks the quickness). The Bearcats also have struggled to contain quick guards and are turnover prone out front.

I'm taking a glass-is-half-full outlook on his comments. He's assuming we win out first round game.

I embarrassed to admit that I'm actually optimistic about how this bracket shook out.

Cincy - well, for an 11 seed, we could've drawn a hell of a lot worse team than Cincy. They play a similar style as we do and I still don't think there's any team in the country that can beat us at our own game if we play it right. Alas, Mizzou hasn't played the press or run well for a month. That said, Mizzou's absolutely capable of beating these guys.

UConn - Really? You folks really want to just write off a game against a team that just played 5 games in 5 nights? Especially with the style we play? Besides, I must be the only guy in the country not lining up to suck off the Big East. Has anyone considered the fact that maybe these guys are feeding their own ratings by beating each other? Maybe the whole damn conference is mediocre. For some reason, I get the feeling we'll see a Big East bloodbath by the Sweet 16 with only 3 or 4 of them making it through.

And if you want to go completely crazy, I think we got the 2nd most beatable 2 seed in the bracket (Really? Florida? C'mon...) and even the most beatable 1 seed.

It's the tourney - it's supposed to be hard. That said, I'm not going to quit on this team yet. Sure, they're probably going to bow out early, they've looked horrid lately. But they're a strange team to play and if they're hitting jumpers, they can run you out of the gym.

I'll take the bracket we got. And look on the bright side, at least we didn't get the bracket that poor Kansas got, right? I mean afterall, the NCAA selection committee has it out for KU every season and seeks to punish them by loading up their run with the likes of Northern Iowa, etc....

Brutal; the poor bastards.

You guys did draw an incredibly easy bracket. I don't think it will matter, but hey, it might give hope to people like you.

Yup, very very likely.

That said - is there a #1 you'd rather draw? Of course, any #1 seed is very likely to absolutely kill MU. At the same time, I simply don't see a way MU beats KU, Pitt or Ohio State, even if they play their best game. If MU goes out there and plays their best game and Duke is just a little bit off, it could be like that UConn game from 3 years ago.

MU should've won that game, they just went cold at the wrong time.

Beggers can't be choosers - everyone has a tough road to the final 4. That said, ours isn't a hell of a lot harder than anyone else's. There's no reason that this team can't play like it was capable of in the early season and make it a lot further than people expect.
