Doesn't seem like a good fit.

Remember we brought in Dennis Allen from the Saints and that defense blitzed the living shit out of teams. Von Miller would be an excellent blitzer and can put his hand in the dirt on 3rd down. Plus he is more than athletic enough to be an OLB in a 4-3.

And it was Gregg Williams that blitzed people. I love how everyone assumes that just because he was under a coordinator that blitzed that he would do the same automatically.

Miller is a horrible fit for a 4-3. He's a true 3-4 OLB. Makes no ****ing sense.

Coaching trees are full of guys who copy what they learned from other guys.

The Bill Walsh tree all ran the West Coast offense from Holmgren, to Gruden, to Shanny, to Kubiak.

Dungy has guys like Lovie Smith, Jim Caldwell, and Leslie Frazier running the Tampa 2.

Parcells has guys like Belicheat, Crennel, and Mangini running the 3-4....

Dennis Allen will bring what he knows and that is balls to the wall pressure and Von Miller is good at that.

Miller is a freak of nature athletically and is the perfect size to be a 4-3 OLB. He is more than athletic enough to play WILL and big enough to play SAM. He will have plenty of opportunites to get after the QB with a defensive mastermind like John Fox and an aggressive up and comer like Dennis Allen.

If Denver drafts miller, they will have the 32nd ranked rush defense next year.

We have had the worst rush defense in the NFL for the past 4 or 5 years. It's going to take more than 1 draft pick to fix the rush defense. I do think having a defensive minded HC will help the defense though.

Bad Guy is just upset that Denver could wind up with the next Derrick Thomas.

He's likely a lot closer to Jarvis Moss than Derrick Thomas.

Why not? We've already got a guy who will be bigger than Michael Jordan playing QB for you to deal with....

BUMP

http://walterfootball.com/draft2011redraft_2.php

"This is a 2010 NFL Mock Re-Draft of Rounds 2 and 3 for Friday evening's NFL Draft coverage. With all of the trades that will go down, I don't expect to get many of these right; in fact, I'll be thrilled if I nail one or two correctly. But it's still fun to speculate where the top prospects will go on Day 2 of the 2010 NFL Draft. "

Kansas City Chiefs: James Brewer, OT, Indiana
The Chiefs wanted Nate Solder, but he was selected four picks in front of them. They may grab a right tackle with one of their three Day 2 selections.

I dont see why this guy over the years is obsessed with us taking OTs. Not going to get into that battle. I personally dont like the pick, but using his list of people still available, how about:

Martez Wilson, Sam Acho, or even Titus Young. If you read on he has the 3rd round for us also:

Kansas City Chiefs: Chris Carter, DE/OLB, Fresno State
The Chiefs have only one reliable pass-rusher. Adding a solid complement across from Tamba Hali would take Kansas City's defense to the next level.

In a top-heavy but thin pass-rushing draft class, someone like Chris Carter (16 TFL and 10 sacks in 2010) could emerge as a second-round pick. Carter had an outstanding 1.59 10-yard split in his 40-yard dash.

Kansas City Chiefs: John Moffitt, G/C, Wisconsin
ESPN's Bill Williamson reported that there's a 50-percent chance that Casey Wiegmann, 38 in July, will retire this offseason. The Chiefs need a successor and some insurance just in case Wiegmann hangs it up.

I like both of these picks actually. However, I think i'd take Kenrick Ellis istead of Moffitt (unless this unknown issue really is scaring teams away). I also really think we should consider Casey Matthews.

For our next 3 picks if we went: Acho/Young, Carter, Ellis/Matthews, I think I would be thrilled.

Rip away.

He re-mocked rounds 2&3

He has the Chiefs taking Brewer OT IU, Chris Carter OLB Fresno St. and John Moffit C/G WIS

Brewer is NOT Roger Saffold so 55 might be early for him. Athan loves Carter so that is a red flag for me. Moffitt has a nasty streak I like but not sure if he's C.

I think the first true center in this draft might be a guy like Kirkpatrick. Wisniewski and those other guys are going through identity crises and don't know if they're guards or centers

That's insane how far Justin Houston has fallen, too. Damn.
