Last year was a one-of-a-kind, so let's hope the luck carries over to this year, with Brett Veach at the helm for the first time.

Rules:
1. No spoiled picks in this thread, all weekend. This means that as tweets are leaking picks a few minutes before the selection is announced live, you don't post it in this thread (ex: embedded tweets), reference it in this thread (ex: Joe Slapdick says it's McCaffrey to Tampa) or hint at it (ex: "it's a RB!").

Veach traded up to draft guys not many thought of as highly. He passed on what appeared to most as superior prospects at positions of need to get his guys.

That’s ok with me and I applaud his agressiveness and conviction.

But it needs to work or it’s all on him.

I’m concerned that we just drafted another Tank/Turk situation...but if Veach/Andy think our first 2 picks are Terrell Suggs and Fletcher Cox...I applaud him having the courage to get them.

But if they end up being Turk McBride and Tank Tyler, people are going to question your evaluations in the future.

Right now, Sammy Watkins needs to stay healthy and produce pro bowl numbers the next 3 years and these draft picks need to work out of these are major strikes on Veach.

To the victor goes the spoils...but the losers get fired.

Yeah but I look for those two to actually get some playing time with the DL rotation even in sub packages. We rotated a lot of those guys last year.

I’m thinking Williams, Nnandi and Ragland won’t play that much in subpackages. I think their role is to set the tone and stuff the run in the beginning of the game to force teams in passing situations.

I would have not traded up at all because of the depth of the draft.

54. Isaiah Oliver
78. Rashaan Gaulden
86. Ronnie Harrison
122. Shaquem Griffin
124. Maurice Hurst

That's the picks I wrote down at the moment. I stopped from frustration. I guess we will see if Veach is right. I think he jumped too fast & that might be because this was his very first draft.

There’s still a chance that Veach makes a trade before the first game, much like he did for Reggie and Erving. Could find help at CB there.

I say there’s a better than 50/50 chance. Could be at OG, CB or S

I'm pretty happy with this draft. Speaks is a beast, and O'Daniel is a productive instinctive player, that will play lots in a position that is often on the field for the Chiefs. People underestimate just how important that nickle safety/linebacker position is in this defense. Not to mention just how bad Sorensen was at it last year.

Im not huge on drafting a NT - however i can see the need there as our run defense was obviously atrocious last year.

I don't really understand the hate for the draft though. So you weren't aware of guys like Speaks? Im sure a lot of other teams were - as he is super talented.

I really think there is a trade coming up for a CB. It will be Veach's plan C.

You just cannot go from trying to sign Kyle Fuller, to trying to trade up to the bottom of the first round for a top CB to settling for a 6th round CB.

Amerson really is just a prayer. You hope he is going to give this team good play but you have no idea. He is your 4th CB.
