You hope that Kreklow has the work ethic of Matt Lawrence, someone who made himself a good shooter, because he doesn't have DI athleticism.

Mizzou needs a 3 bomber for sure...I sure hope he does get better. Lawrence was worthless defensively but when you needed a 3 he was solid

I feel like Kreklow can be a valuable piece on an elite team. Our problem is that our style (lack of any offensive structure) doesn't really allow a marksman to utilize his talent. It's not like we can dump the ball down low and cause the defense to collapse which opens up Kreklow for a kick-out. He sure as hell isn't going to run defenders into screens. The next screen a MA team sets will be the first.

Our entire team floats around the 3 point line. He's just another guy standing around.

that's whats pathetic about this team, no movement just sitting aroudn the 3 point line taking low % shots all game.

I heard a stat on the radio yesterday saying that Denmon shoots over 60% from the field when he's taking spot-up jumpers, but he's in the low 20s when he shoots off the dribble. Guess how he gets most of his shots...

Well, he shoots 50% from the field, so it's not off the dribble.

A lot of that is off penetration which isn't figured into shooting off the dribble nor spot-ups.

Probably an issue of semantics, but he shoots over 20% on layups. (I used penetration to describe layups, fast break dunks, etc. Poor choice on my part. I would assume that pull-up jumpers were included, as the radio comment was about jumpshots.) Semantics aside, he shoots in the low 20s on jumpshots off the dribble and over 60% on spot-up jumpers.

With competent point guard play and a competent offensive structure, Denmon would be a much more valuable 2 guard. Instead, he reminds me more of LeBron against the Magic in the finals. He's the only guy worth a shit on our team, but 1 on 5 doesn't get it done against good teams no matter how good that 1 is.
