Fun game today. Man the crowd eruped when Pujols cleared the bases. Was in a suite right behind home plate. Free beer and food....awwwwwwww. **** it was hot though

I honestly think this year's Cardinals might be better. Definitely are offensively, I don't think it's even close. Pujols/Ankiel/Ludwick/Glaus all have a shot to hit 30-40 homers. I'd agree the biggest difference is not having a true ace like Carpenter and closer like Wainwright, and you'll get them back soon. Otherwise I think all your pitchers like Lohse are as good as the Suppan/Weaver/Marquis types. I think this team is better, but the Cubs and Brewers are much better too.
To this day I have no clue how Weaver pitched the way he did during that post season. He was a POS before they picked him up and a POS now, but what he did during the postseason I doubt anyone saw that coming. By the way I pretty much agree with your assesment. How that team won it all still surprises me. As for this year's team, find a solution to the bullpen and this is a very dangerous team.

I went to a Cubs/Cards game at the old Busch in 2004. Temperature was nearly 100 with high humidity. No breeze. It was horrible. I got a sunburn IN THE SHADE. Perhaps I was just cooking. I was physically sick that night from the heat.

That was the last day game I'll ever attend in St. Louis from any point between mid-June and mid-September.

Saw a statistic on Sportscenter last night.

We have won 21 one run games this year. The most in the Majors.

We have also won the most come from behind games this season.

This team has something. That something you can't find in a stat, something you can't put your finger on but you now the result, good team chemsitry.

If they can get to the playoffs with a healthy Carpenter and Wainright we might actually beat some teams.
