For this reason.. and the reality that Smith is not irreplaceable... I'm good with moving onto some other QB. Not expecting it though. I'd be shocked if Reid and Dorsey put this loss on Alex.

He did it all ****ing season long and did it all season long last year, and the year before, and the year before. He simply is not a big time, play making QB. He is a pussy who looks first read, might glance at second read and if neither are open he begins pissing down his leg and runs out of the pocket. It is literally what Alex Smith has always done as a NFL QB.

If the fans fly a banner after four winning seasons and making the playoffs 3 out 4 years, the Hunts will consider moving the team before benching Alex or firing Andy.

Flying a banner would be stupid at this point. It would have the opposite effect.

After reading all these thoughtful post (I mean the in depth analysis is something to truly marvel), I've now come to the conclusion that it is all Alex's fault and we should can him, Reid and Dorsey.

Lets go back to the glory days before they got here!

He needs multiple years in the same system, they said. Well, it's Year Four.

He needs a better OL, they said. The teams goes out and gets an elite RT, and sack numbers drop.

He needs more weapons, they said. Good grief, there are weapons all over the field. Most QB's would kill to have this offensive talent to work with.

Some of us called it from Day One. Alex Smith is who Alex Smith is. A below average QB who could be given the keys to HOF talent around him and find a way to put the offense in the ditch.

Four years into this experiment, there is no progression - actually, there's been regression, and it's time to move the **** on. Otherwise, we know our fate before a season ever starts. 9-11 wins and a one-and-done when it matters. Unless we're fortunate enough to draw the Brian Hoyer's of the world in R1.
