Off Season Lets Talk Guns
Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.
Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon? Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware? Part 2: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=293623 Last edited by Bearcat; 07-28-2015 at 06:06 PM.. |

I am a novice too...I guess...but I've never heard of a break-in kit and I've bought Kimbers...which I don't feel like they've needed to be broke it. My AR is a Sig516...wish I had got the 716, but the dude talked me out of it.

Damn Pete, I almost forgot: Don't let the bore cleaner get on the outside finish of your rifle. It's rare, but sometimes it can screw up the finish.
I have never seen it, though, but some people I know have complained about it. |

Some of them have an abrasive bullet which I think can actually hurt a non-crome lined barrel. |

Mine is an S&W M&P 15 straight from the factory made specifically for the WV State Police, so it isn't exactly like one off the store shelf, but I do realize now that I probably should have cleaned it before shooting it.
I think I've posted the picture before, but I will again just because I like it. Last edited by WV; 12-19-2012 at 12:51 AM.. |

Get yourself a boresnake and some breakfree clp. Clean every 500-1000 rounds, lubricate as needed.
The best part about this platform is that is incredibly reliable with a little bit of care. More people cause damage over-cleaning than under-cleaning. Posted via Mobile Device |

I think I'm going to pick up some extra ammo. Best deals on bulk .223 out there? I'm not looking for garbage ammo that jams all the time, but I'm also trying to avoid getting hosed. What say you?

I think I'm finally going to order an AR lower. I've gone back and forth about building or buying; think building will be good for me; to learn the ins-outs of an AR since I don't have any experience with them.
Any preferences?...or does it matter for the lower. I'll take my time in figuring out all the guys of it / barrel etc.
