We should draft David Pollack at # 15 if there .....

Would LUV to see him as a Chief next year!!! I live in southeast GA and I catch alot of Bulldogg games, and anyone will tell you that D.Pollack is Sick.I could give 2 craps what his 40 time is,because his first step off the ball is faster then anyone in the Nation. And I dont care what his height is either, look at Freeny his is only 6'1.I think alot of people get to caught up on workout numbers,I dont care.

I know that for the last 3 years NOBODY in the whole SEC has been able to handle Pollack. After his first year at GA He got double teamed or (chiped) on almost every damm play, and he still Kicked Butt.He is a terror off the edge, and plays at 150% allday.Pollack never takes a play off,and is always around the bal.I think him and J.Allen would be F'N scary, both of them could be 10+ sack guys.

I look at the Falcons and thier DE's really get after the QB Big time,Thats why they lead the league in sacks.I saw them just smoke the Rams O-line (O.Pace included)the other night,That makes thier so-so secondary look a ton better.Allen and Pollack would be a crazy team, and other QB's better just Duck.Read this http://www.nflfans.com/draft/2005/sh...avid%20Pollack

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CHIEFS ONE TIME 4 DT KC CHIEFS 4 LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Without a doubt he is the guy I think we should draft. Then in the second round best corner still on the board. Who are the corners that are expected to drop to the second or third round? Any of you draft gurus got a list?

I'd go for him in the first, IF we sign Baxter, Smoot, or Lucas as a FA.

2nd Round cbs seem to be:

Antonio Perkins, Oklahoma
Bandon Browner, Oregon State

We are not going to sign Smoot(he'll want way to much) the Ravens are trying to resign Baxter right now, and what I saw of him this year they can have him. Lucas is the guy we need to sign. As far as A. Perkins I don't want to draft any one from oklahomas secondary that was on the field during the USC game.

I'd be leaning toward Browner, too:

Brandon Browner*

CB

EXCHANGE VALUE
72.0

Pros: Rare size and speed combo. Is a playmaker, 6 INT's as a freshman, very physical corner.
Cons: Has only played 2 years at the college level, is still a little raw.
Draft Exchange Analysis:
2004 - Brandon is among the most talented players in the nation at his position...a certain postseason honors candidate after recording one of the best seasons in the history of the program for a defensive player...Browner helped the program ease the 2002 departure of Dennis Weathersby, Calvin Carlyle, and Terrell Roberts...he is one of the most physically gifted athletes in the conference...also played receiver during spring drills and in three scrimmages he caught four passes for 68 yards...his status at receiver during the season has not been determined at press time...Athlon Sports preseason second team All-American and first team All-Pac-10. 2003 - Browner's honors as a redshirt-freshman include Pac-10 Conference Freshman of the Year, and being named to Freshman All-American Teams by the Football Writers Association, The Sporting News, and Rivals.com...second team All-Pac-10...Browner shared the team-high for interceptions and ranked ninth in the nation with six - teammate Mitch Meeuwsen also had six...Browner helped the team intercept 20 passes, the 10th-highest figure in the nation...he intercepted three passes against Arizona State, earning him Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Week honors...broke up six passes for the season and had 43 tackles...he returned an interception 31 yards for a touchdown at USC. 2002 - Redshirt. SYLMAR PrepStar West All-Region team as a senior...played as a senior at Sylmar High School, where he earned All-Valley Mission League honors...MVP on defense of the Mission League...played at Monroe High School in North Hills as a junior...played receiver on offense, where he accounted for 1,726 career yards and 24 touchdowns...he had 16 career interceptions...as a senior he returned three punts for touchdowns...also lettered in track as a junior, competing in the high jump and 200 meters. PERSONAL Son of Keith Browner and Brenda Fisher...has one brother and one sister...pre-communication major

I'm going to assume that's THE Keith Browner, by far the least talented of the Browner brothers who played in the NFL.

Taking Browner that high would be an incredible leap of faith:

I agree that if Pollack is there at #15 he should be the IMMEDIATE selection. Unfortunately, I greatly doubt either he nor Erasmus James will be available. That's why I've been talking up Odell Thurman. He might seem like a slight reach at the moment, but that will change after the combine.

In the second round? I don't think so; for a zone cover scheme you might be right.....Gun's aggressive bump 'n run.....this kid has the size, speed, and physical play to be another James Hasty kinda player.

He's no Rich Scanlon.

From what I've watched of Pollack the last 2yrs I've always been impressed. I have not enjoyed watching him, since he's a shatty bulldog, but his motor is always going and he's an impact player.

Pollack is going top 10...

That being a given, would the Chiefs consider trading up, do you think?

I've been on the Pollack bandwagon since the Outback Bowl. The kid reminded me of DT coming off the line - he has a very fast first step, plus he's as strong as an ox. He was literally throwing blockers aside.

He also reminds me of the New England LB's - he just has that intangible of being in the right place at the right time and the ability to make big plays.

Finally, he's not a liability in run defense. Even though he is frequently double teamed he holds his ground. What I found odd in the Bowl game was that teams ran AWAY from him. I had read the draft "guru" sites that questioned his size and figured they would run at him, but nope they ran away from him.

I wanted to add that he has no off field problems, is known to be a hard worker in the offseason and doesn't have a history of major injuries. Plus, you could trust him to drive your hot sister on a cross country trip.
This hot sister comment is worthless without a pic.

BTW, I like your football takes.
