Kid was 16 riding his dad's bike.

He ran cause he didn't want to get into trouble.

In the mind of this kid, the choice is:

A: Getting grounded and receiving an ass whupping from Dad for joyriding on his bike.

B: Avoiding a ticket by escaping.
