How ironic that SI comes out this week with an article on fans. They had the top fans from all four sports in various categories.

Toughest Fans: Bucs
Loudest Fans: Chiefs
Scariest Fans: Raiders
Most Knowledgeable: Packers
Stupidest Fans: Raiders
Best Groupies: Dolphins
Most Loyal: Packers

Also, there was a quote in the article:

"Those idiots in Kansas City dont know when to shut up. They yell even when the Chiefs have the ball. Thats how stupid they are"

How about that? I thought for a second that I was reading my work on the Chiefs Planet!

I know what some of the "brighter" fans will say on here: "Sports Illustrated doesnt know what they are talking about" Unless its something positive about the Chiefs, it isnt valid.

Just remember that this is the same magazine that picked the Chiefs to finish in fourth place this year. I think they know the Chiefs and their fans as well as I do.

Yea yea, I know you guys. The Sports Illustrated people dont know a damn thing about football. Predicting the Chief vs Packers in 96 was horrible. They only got one team right. And picking the Chiefs to finish forth when they are actually going to finish third shows how stupid those people really are. The guys on this board know way more about the NFL than Sports Illustrated does! (Except when they have good things to say about the Chiefs.)

Like I said, Chief fans arent the brightest fans in the NFL thats for sure!
I quit reading SI when they put both Farve and Bono on the cover. I know Farve deserved to be there, but Bono?! Give me a break. Talk about a credibility problem...

Remember, SI is the kiss of death when it comes to sports coverage. Better look out, Packfan, your IQ may now suffer more than it already has!!!

Kphobia,

I think SI is a better judge of fans than you or me. I havent been to every stadium or talked to all fans throughout the NFL and I'll bet you havent either. However, I do know Packer fans and Chief fans. And I said earlier in the week how fair weathered the fans in KC were versus how loyal the Packer fans are. Some of you guys tried to argue that to no avail. Now, I have a major magazine back me up, but even that doesnt convince you.

I think SI is probably a better judge of fans than you or I. I'll bet you agree with the Raiders being the scariest and stupidest, right?

You know what, Ken?

I'm not into "rating" fan's knowledge on this board. I can't understand why anyone would be unless they were a little insecure about their own knowledge. I'm also not stating that I know more than an SI writer or anybody else for that matter. I DO KNOW that this piece you are quoting is an OPINION article. They are entitled to have one and I'm entitled to give one in return. It doesn't make me a stupid fan or even you, Ken. However, it does make you a whiney, antagonistic b i t c h. That, my friend, is indisputable!

Yeah, SI is always right...
Have you ever heard of the SI jinx?
You sound like a St. Johns fan saying, "See SI says Felipe Lopez is going to be the savior of St. Johns basketball, so he's got to be, right?"

Fly,

Dont try to come on here and tell us that you knew how bad Bono was in 96. I am sure you were rock hard when that magazine came out and thought for sure that your Chiefs were going to the Super Bowl. Its easy to come on here now and challenge their prediction after the fact. I was probably only one of a handful in KC that was skeptical of Bono leading the Chiefs at the time. Everyone else in town thought he was the next coming of Johnny Unitas. I'll bet you were too.

You found us out, Ken. We were all major Bono-backers. He was our saviour. The greatest QB to ever go to only one pro-bowl.

Kphobia,

If the article raved about Chief fans and their loyalty, you would be chirping about it and you know. C'mon, I wasnt born yesterday. I wouldnt have mentioned it if is wasnt for the debate earlier this week. The article, IMO, is right on. Chief fans are the loudest, Raider fans are the scariest, and Packer fans are the most loyal.
Its just somebody else (sports illustrated) validating my argument. You have Bliss, Luzap, Titus, MI Chief. I have Sports Illustrated.
How does this pertain to all us posting on this board? A lot of us have been here for 2 years or more. Our loyalty to the Chiefs is pretty evident. The people you want to dog are out...there....Not on this board.

I'd rather be the loudest fans anyday. How does being smart help your team win? It isn't too hard to figure out when to yell and when not to.

Phobia,

No doubt. I have lived here since 1992 and no matter who was the QB, Chief fans were sure he was taking you guys to the Super Bowl. Thats one of the reasons why I dont think your fan base is all that bright. Me and the rest of the NFL knows the caliber of QBs this team has had. And you simply dont win playoff games with guys like Krieg, Bono, and Grbac. They have proven it.

Packfan,

At just over half full the Chiefs have as many fans attending as the Packers, you as usual continue to ignore that Milwaukee is a very short drive to attend the games so this nonsense about only 90,000 people in Green Bay does not cut it either. The one truth that you continue to ignore is that there is pretty much nothing else to do or look forward to for these fans. Yet they do not sell out every game, every season.

As usual I give you good arguments about who the most loyal fans are (1 Redskins, 2 Broncos)in the NFL and you choose to ignore it because it clearly refutes your poorly constructed foundation. I also point out why it is impossible for SI to know who are the most knowledgeable fans in the NFL and you ignore that because you have no media guide to help you with your argument.

Once again Pack_Little_Boy_Troll you are simply lame.

I agree that Packers fans are very loyal. I disagree that Chiefs fans are loud while on offense. I think we are probably amongst the loudest non-dome stadiums. I think Raiders fans are probably scary. I think smartest/stupidest are probably debateable.

Any team that can sell thousands of worthless pieces of paper for $200 to a bunch of lemmings has the most loyal fans. No question. I'll bet Lamar could even sell out a baseball venue for the right to watch the Packers adjacent to Lambeau.....

Stevie Ray,

Good Point. Most of the fans on here are probably the loyal ones. there are a few, like Bliss and Luzap, that disappear during losing streaks, but the rest are probably loyal.

Like I said, we debated this earlier. More so the loyalty of the Packer fans. Now, a major sports magazine has basically said the same thing I was saying. You guys dissagreed with me and now you dissagree with SI. I think what needs to happen is have the almight God himself (Len Dawson) come out and say the Packer fans are the most loyal. Maybe then some of you will get it.

Kphobia,

why rip on that stock?? People will spend their money on what they want. Were living in a good economy right now, so why not buy it? And for your information, their are GB stock holders in every state in the US and 13 foreign countries. Its not just the people of GB that buy the stock. There are other "idiots" elsewhere. I tell you what, I think that stock certificate in a frame looks better than a Lake Dawson jersey in a frame (I have seen several of those in KC)

Talk about idiots!

Stevieray,

I think you hit on the relevant fact, smart can be judged by the fan base intelligence quotient.

Example a dog (basically LCD on IQ scale) is considered extremely smart if it rolls over and sits up on request.

Likewise, if a Packer fan can avoid pissing his pants when they score, find the stadium, and earn enough money to buy football tickets . Then based on the intelligence that would find them paying $200 a pop for worthless stock, and going to a game with no value in subzero weather makes them the smartest on a relative scale. You know IQ around that of a dog.
